Chapter 107
Hearing Jessica’s worth, Darell fell into deep thought.
Rachel quickly fanned the flames, whispering in Darell, Darell, the issue isn’t about who’s right or wrong anymore. It’s Nina’s friend… I hate to say it, but he arts like a gangster. He didn’t even greet in, and he constantly talks about fighting and violence. Isn’t that concerning! I’m really worried Nina She might pick up some bad habits from him”
Before Darell could speak, Nina exploded finu. She glared at Rachel and shouted, “You old witch, what the hell did you say about my friend?”
“What did you just call me chef’s eyes widened in shock. She couldn’t believe that Nina had the guts to curse her.
ina, you’ve gone too farTM Darell frowned with a displeased expression.
However, war machines were Nina’s weak spot. She wouldn’t allow anyone to innuit war machines. So, the yelled at Darell. “You’re the one being unreasonable! You believe everything Jessica sayi! They’re insulting my friends, and you’re siding with them! You’re just an old fool! Charlic is great better than all of your You’re the ones liadmouthing him. If you don’t want me to be friends with Charlie, then I don’t want you around”
After saying that Nina grabbed Charliex hand and stored out, saying, “Charle, let’s go! I can’t stand being with this awful family!
Charlie could not help but smile when he saw Nina defending him.
He cast a glance at the angry Darell, thinking. He hasn’t shown any support to Nina’s stepmother and stepsister.
Before they could leave, Darell stopped Nuna. “Nina, wait. Stop right theref
Nina would not listen to Datell. In her heart, these people were not her family. Charlie, Jackie, and other war machines were her real family If it weren’t for the fact that the higher–ups wanted her to build a good relationship with th
these people, she wouldn’t have bothered with them. Now, Charlie was here. Nina could completely abandon this group of people and leave
Jackie had even killed her own family. Nina just wanted to stay away from hers. At worst, she would face a punishment similar to Jackie’s. If the Woods family dared to speak ill of the war machines. Nara would cut ties with them without hesitation
And yet. Nina wanted to pull Charlie away, but he realized that Charlie didn’t
“Charlie!” Nina turned around and looked at Charlie in confusion. Why didn’t he leave? she wondered.
Charlie smiled at Nina but didn’t say a word. While he was thrilled that she would give up her family for him, even wanting to applaud her bravery, he knew they couldn’t act so rashly after what happened to Jackie
The attitude of the higher–ups was ambiguous. He couldn’t let Nina be targeted by the higher–ups because of him…
Charlie noticed, although the Woods weren’t good people, they were still better than Charlie’s and Jackie’s scumbag families in comparison. So, unless absolutely necessary, Charlie wouldn’t allow Nina to sever ties with the Woods. He couldn’t risk putting her in danger.
At this moment. Darells cold voice cut through the air. “Tve never seen anyone with a worse temper than you? Did I say anything? Are guessing my thought! Who taught you to act like this?”

Yes?” When Nina heard this, he looked at Darell suspiciously with confusion in her eyes. “Weren’t you going to stand with Jessica and Rachel?” Darril said firmly. “I will not take sides! I’m just stating facts. It’s their fault for criticizing your friends in front of you, but you shouldn’t scold your stejanother for being a witch‘
soon as these words were spoken, Jessica refused. ‘Is father planning to punish us both?
She quickly said, “Dail, what Mom said about Nina’s friend was the truth Nina’s friend insulted me and Mom. Why didn’t you say anything? It’s their fault. That’s more than odeyous”
Darell glanced at Jessica and asked, “Then wlay did you look for trouble with Nina the moment she came back home!”
“I” Jessica clanked and poured aggrievedly. “I didn’t look for trouble with Nina. I just saw that she bought so many things and was curious where she
“Why did you ask that? It’s not your place to ask where she got the money. You should just mind your own business,” said Darell
Jessica felt wronged after hearing this. With tears in her eyes, she said, “Dad, we’re family! Can’t I even ask her a question?”
Hearing that, Darell asked, “Have you ever really treated Nina as a family!”

Chapter 107
This sentence hit the nail on the head.
Jessica’s expression changed again and again when she heard that. She opened her mouth a few times, but she could not say the word “yes”
Indeed, deep inside, she had never treated Nina as family. For her, Nina was nobody but a girl showing up from nowhere.
Everyone in the family hated Nina. Everyone thought that she had died somewhere! Vet Nina suddenly appeared, trying to take all the attention of Jessica’s father and brothers from her
Jessica couldn’t reconcile. She believed that she seas the only daughter of the family. She had lived with the Woods for decades. And Nina just showed up out of the blue. She didn’t deserve anything.
Darell noticed Jessica’s expression and emotions. With an indifferent tone, he said to her, “Stay out of Nina’s affairs from now on. If you stay away from her, 1 believe she won’t provoke you
“Dad” Jessica’s eyes brimmed with tears as she sobbed, glancing between Darell and Nina. The weight of her grievance and sadness was overwhelming, and she sensed that Darell favored Nina.
Jessica couldn’t stand this result. She wiped his tears and ran out.
“Jessica Rachel cried out in a panic when she saw her daughter run away. She wanted to confront Darell about how he treated her, but his cold, piercing gaze made her hesitate. Frustrated, she stomped her feet and left with Jessica.
Seeing Rachel and her daughter run away, Nina was surprised. She hadn’t expected this outcome. The old fool he doesn’t seem biased toward Jessica after all. Has he changed?
Darell’s voice sounded again. “Happy now!
Nina turned around and looked at Darell. She blinked and gave Darell a thumbs up, saying, “Old fool, you’re finally being fair for once!” She didn’t need Darell to be biased towards her. She just hoped for him to be fair.
Darell looked into Nina’s clear, innocent eyes. He wanted to say something but didn’t know how to begin. Rubbing his forehead in frustration, he said to her, “How can you call me an old fool! That’s rude.”
“Then what should I call you? Nina asked

that, Darell went upstairs. He was afraid that if he stayed any longer, Nina downstairs would piss him off.
Nina watched Darell head upstairs again, tilting her head and scratching her chin in curiosity. “What’s this old fool doing down here?” she wondered
It felt like he lingered on the stairs f
for a moment before going up again. Humph! How forgetful. He even claimed he wasn’t an old fool!
“Funny, Charlie said, laughing lightly after watching the entire scene.
“Huh?” Nina turned around and looked at Charlie curiously. “Charlie, what are you laughing at?”
Charlic wrapped his arm around Nina’s neck and playfully ruffled her hair. With a smile, he said, “Nina, I’m really happy right now.”
“Huh?” Nina did not understand
Charlie didn’t say anything else. Nina’s family might not be as bad as he imagined. In fact, if they got along well, she could genuinely gain a sense of kinship with them.
This thought eased his mind. Even if something were to happen to him in the future, he knew Nina wouldn’t be lonely anymore. He felt happy for her.
