Ryan’s POV
“Hey, dad. Can I speak to you for a moment?” I asked as I walked into my dad’s office.
“Sure, son, come in. How was your date with Violet last night?” My dad asked as I sat on the chair across from him.
“That is what I wanted to talk to you about. The date went great, but Jane was waiting for us when we got home. She made it seem like she wanted to ask Violet a question, but I knew she was waiting for us to get home. Anyway, afterward Violet told me we couldn’t see each other anymore because Jane was her friend she told Violet she was in love with me. Now Violet
believes she would be a terrible friend to keep seeing me since Jane has deep feelings for me,” I said
“That’s messed up, son. You need to figure out how to make things right,” my dad replied
“That is what I wanted to talk to you about. I was hoping you would kick Jane out of the Packhouse. That way, she won’t be around all the time,” I said
“Wait a minute. You want me to do what?” My dad asked
“Kick her out of the Packhouse. We can find her family and her somewhere else to live,” I replied, and my dad sighed.
“I can’t do that, Ryan,” my dad said

“Why not? You are the Alpha,” I asked.
“Because if I kicked her out because she is your ex and you feel her presence is making it hard for you to get close to your Mate. What type of Alpha would I be?” My dad said
“You would do it for mom,” I said
“Look, son. I love you with all my heart. You are going to take my place as Alpha, and I want you to be happy. But I can’t kick her out for being your ex.. You are going to have to clean your mess up yourself,” my dad said. I knew he was right. If he kicked Jane out of the house, she could go to the werewolf council and complain that she was being mistreated for being my ex because I had found my Mate.
“You are right, dad. I am sorry for asking you to do that,” I replied
“Don’t worry about it, son. I understand it can be frustrating having an ex try to come between you and your Mate. All you have to do is show Violet you only have eyes for her. I know it will be tough because she is a human, but I have faith in you. You can also warn Jane about the consequences of messing with a future Luna. I am sure she will straighten up quickly if you do,” My dad said.
“Thanks for the advice, dad. I am going to go plan how to win my Mates heart,” I said and walked out of his office and saw the one woman I didn’t want to see.
“Hey, Ry.”
“What do you want, Jane?” I asked
“The same thing I always want. For you to come to your senses

“You will never be my Luna. Only one woman will be my Luna, and that is my Mate, Violet,” I said
“That isn’t what you were saying about a month ago. You were planning on making me your Luna,” Jane said
“We have already had this conversation. I told you that before I found my Mate. Now that I have found Violet, I don’t want you or anyone else. You are going to have to get over it,” I said
“Ry,” Jane started, but I cut her off.
“Look, I am tired of you trying to get me back. I will never get back to you. I have a Mate that I want and love, and you are going to stop trying to come between us, or you will pay,” I said, and I Jane gasped in shock.
“You love her?” Jane asked. I hadn’t realized I had said it out loud, but now that I had, it felt right.
“Yes, Jane. I love her and only her” I said
“But I love you,” Jane said
“Stop it, Jane. I had never told you I loved you, Not even when I was planning on making you Luna before meeting my Mate. I want you to stay away from my Mate. I know you are up to something, and if you hurt Violet, you will be punished. Don’t forget she is my Mate and the future luna of this Pack,” I said and walked away before Jane could reply. I had nothing else to say to her.

Violet’s POV
“So let me get this straight. Jane walked to your room to talk to you after midnight about working on our project today?” Emily asked
“Yep,” I replied
“And you didn’t think she planned to wait for you to get back so she could run into the both of you after your date?” Emily asked, and I sighed
“Even if she did, I shouldn’t have gone out with him. She is Jane’s ex, and I am supposed to be her friend. Friends don’t go out with friends ex’s,” I replied
“Okay, I understand what you are saying, but Jane isn’t someone you should be friends with. She has been trying to come between Ryan and you since you arrived. I have told you once and am going to tell you again. Jane isn’t to be trusted,” Emily said.
“I have to get Sof from your parent’s room,” I said, and Emily sighed.
“Okay,” Emily said
“I will meet you downstairs later. Remember, we have to finish our project with Jane,” I said
“I don’t know why when we are being home-schooled at the moment,” Emily said
“Because the teacher still wants us to finish it,” I said and

“Violet.” I turned to see Jane walking towards me.
“Oh, Hey Jane,” I said
“Can I talk to you for a moment? There is something I need to show you,” Jane said.
“I was on my way to get my sister. Can you show me later?’ I asked
“No. I have to show you now. I think it would make our project better,” Jane said
“Okay,” I replied and followed her outside the house.
“It is this way,” Jane said, walking towards the woods.
“Is there anything in there?” I asked
“Nothing to be scared of. I always go into these woods,” Jane said, and I followed her into the woods. I was beginning to get nervous and felt it was a bad idea to follow her.
“You know what, Jane? I really need to get to my sister,” I said and turned to walk away.
“Why did you have to come here?” Jane suddenly asked, and I looked at her.
“What do you mean?” I asked
“Why did you come here? You should have stayed where you were. I am sorry, but I can’t let you take Ryan from me. You are a nice girl, but I can’t let you ruin this for me,” Jane said,
