Violet’s POV
“Thank you for taking me to the movies and out to eat. I had a great time,” I said as Ryan and I walked into the house.
“I am happy to hear that. I will walk you to your room since it is next to mine,” Ryan said
“Okay.”
“Thanks again for everything,” I said, stopping by my bedroom door.
“You don’t have to thank me, beautiful. If anything, I should be the one thanking you for agreeing to go out with me,” Ryan said and moved a stray hair out of my face.

We were staring into each other’s did at the
restaurant. I could see Ryan’s head moving closer to mine. I knew he was about to kiss me, and the crazy thing was I wanted him to kiss me.
“Hi, Violet. Hi Ryan,” I heard Jane say. I pulled away from Ryan before he could kiss me.
“Hi Jane,” I said
“What do you want?” Ryan asked rudely.
“I came to ask Jane if we were still working on our project tomorrow,” Jane said.

“Yeah, at two, right?” I asked
“Good,” Jane said
“Well, since you have already asked her a question, you can have to ask her tomorrow. You can leave now,” Ryan said in a rude and demanding voice.
“I will leave now,” Jane said and walked away quickly.
“Did you have to be so rude to her?” I asked angrily, shocking him
“All I did was ask her to leave,” Ryan said
“No, you basically commanded her to leave,” I replied
“Look, Violet. She came to interrupt us on purpose. She knew we were on a date and was probably waiting for us to walk up here,” Ryan said
“She came to ask me if we were still working on the project tomorrow,” I said
“She could have asked you that in the morning. Not at midnight. She intentionally interrupted us,” Ryan said-
I thought about what he said and knew he was probably right. It was late, and she could have waited until the next day to ask me that question. Then I started to feel guilty. Jane was my friend, and I had gone out on a date with her ex-boyfriend. The guy she told me she loved. I even almost kissed him.
“Ryan, this isn’t right. We can’t go out with each other again. This isn’t me,” I said

“Wait, what are you talking about Violet? Why can’t we go out again? Didn’t you have a good time?” Ryan asked
“Yes, I had an amazing time with you. It’s just Jane is my friend and your ex. It isn’t right I am messing with the man she is still in love with,” I said.
“Wait, what did you just say?” Ryan asked shocked
“Jane told me she was still in love with you and wants you back. I am not the girl that goes after her friends, man,” I said
“I am not Jane’s man. I will never get back with Jane, and she isn’t in love with me. She is trying to keep you away from me, Violet. You can’t believe anything that girl says. You are the only woman I want,” Ryan said and wrapped his arms around me, pulling his body to mine. I wanted to stay in his arms forever. For some reason, I felt like that was where I belonged, but I knew it was wrong.
Not only was Jane in love with Ryan, but he was also a playboy, and I could never let him play with me. I knew I could easily fall hard for him, and I wasn’t the only one I needed to worry about. I also had to worry about Sof.
“I am sorry, Ryan. I have to go,” I said and pulled away from him.
“Violet, I,” Ryan started to say, but Traci cut him off.
“Hey, you two. Are you just getting back?” Traci asked
“Yes, mom. We just made it home,” Ryan said
“I came up here to let you know Sofia is asleep on my floor. I thought it would be best to let her sleep there since she was

“Okay, thanks. I am going to bed now,” I replied without sparing. Ryan a glance.
“Good night, Sweetheart,” Traci said
“Goodnight,” I replied and went into my room.
I lay on my bed and began to cry. I didn’t know what was wrong with me, but I didn’t want to stop seeing Ryan. It felt like when I wasn’t with him, something was missing, but I knew the pain I was feeling now was nothing compared to what I would feel if I got with him and he hurt me.
Ryan was not the kind of guy to be with one woman, and I was not the type of woman to share.
Ryan’s POV
“Did something happen between you and Violet, son? You seem sad,” My mom asked as we walked into my room.
“Jane happened,” I replied
“What did she do?” My mom asked
“She is trying to pull Violet away from me, but I am not going to let that happen,” I replied
“Good. Don’t let anyone come between you and your Mate. I am going to go back to my room. Will you be okay?” My mom asked
“Yes, I will be fine,” I said, and my mom left my room.

I was upset with myself. I should never have gotten with Jane. I should never have gotten with any female other than my Mate. I brought this upon myself by messing with Jane when I knew she wasn’t my Mate. One thing I was sure of was that I was going to fix everything.
No one was going to take my Mate away from me, and if they tried, they would pay. The first to pay was going to be Jane.
