Chapter 16

Violet’s POV

“Where are we going?” I asked while looking around, hoping no other wolves would show up and chase us.

“To my parent’s house,” Emily said. I was still holding Sofia, and thankfully, she had calmed down.

“Thank the Goddess, you are alright,” Traci said from the doorway as soon as we hopped out of the car. Lee was standing by her, looking relieved as well.

“Come on inside,” Lee said once we made it to the front door, and we headed into the house.

“I don’t understand why a wolf would have been chasing us, and it was huge. I don’t believe wolves are supposed to be that big,” I said. Emily and I were sitting in the living room with Traci and Lee. Sof was playing with the other kids her age. I was happy she didn’t see everything that happened. All she heard was me screaming while everything was happening.

The front door opened, causing me to flinch from surprise. I was relieved when I saw Ryan standing there. HE looked around the room and seemed tense, but when his eyes landed on me, he seemed to calm down.

“Are you okay?” Ryan asked as he walked over to me.

“Yeah, I am fine,” I said

“I am sorry, sis. I am happy all of you are okay,” Ryan said

“You all will stay here from now on. You will be safe here. We have security guarding the place,” Ryan said.

“That sounds like a good idea,” Emily said.

“Yeah, it does,” I replied. I knew we were safer staying at Emily’s parent’s house than ours.

“You and Sof can stay in the room next to Ryan’s,” Traci said.

“Come on, and I will show it to you,” Ryans said. He went into the kitchen and came out with a key in his hand. “This is the key to your room,” Ryan said, and I followed him while holding Sofia’s hand.

When we got to the room, Ryan opened the door. The room was nice, with a king–size bed, balcony, walk–in closet, and bathroom It reminded me of my room at Emily’s house.

“Do you like it?” Ryan asked

“Yes, it is nice,” I replied.

“Do you like the roses I have been sending you?” Ryan asked.

“Yes, they are nice, but you don’t have to send them every day,” I replied

“What happened to your arm?” I asked worriedly. I held his hand, looking at the scratches. “These scratches are deep. Do you have a first aid kit?” I asked

“I am fine, Violet. They are just scratches and will heal,” Ryan said

“They need to be cleaned, are you can get an infection,” I said.

“The first aid kit should be in the bathroom,” He said, seeing I wasn’t going to stop asking him. I entered the bathroom and found the first aid kit under the sink.

“Come sit on the bed,” I said and began cleaning the scratches to make sure they didn’t become infected. I didn’t look into his eyes, but I felt he was staring at me. I focus on cleaning the blood off his arm.

“There you go. All better now,” I said and looked into his eyes to see him looking at me like I was the most important person in the world to him. I knew I must have been overthinking, and he couldn’t possibly feel that way about me. We hadn’t known each other for long.

“Thank you, Violet,” He said and kissed the top of my head, sending tingles through my body. “I was wondering if you would like to go to a movie tomorrow night?” Ryan asked

“I will think about it,” I replied

“Hey, V. Do you like your room,” Emily asked as she walked into my room. “Oh, I am sorry. I didn’t know you were busy,” Emily said

“It is fine. We were just talking,” I replied. I looked at Ryan to see an annoyed look on his face. He seemed upset his sister walked into my room.

“Yeah, sis. We were just talking. I am going to get ready for dinner. I will see you downstairs, beautiful,” Ryan said, causing me to blush at him, calling me Princess.

“Bye, Sof. Bye, Emily,” Ryan said

“Bye,” Emily said, and Ryan walked out of the room.

“What was that all about?” Emily asked

“Ryan asked me to go to the movies with him, tomorrow,” I said

“And what did you say?” Emily asked

“I told him I would think about it,” I said

“V, I know you like him. You might as well give in and go out ‘with him. We both know you are going to end up with him,”

Emily said.

I wanted to say yes, but I couldn’t help but think of Jane and what she told me about still loving him. I also couldn’t stop thinking about Jane telling me he cheated on her. I wasn’t the type of girl to share, so if I decided to be with him, I wouldn’t take him cheating on me. If he cheated on her, I was sure he would cheat on me too. I didn’t want to take that chance.

“Jane told me she was still in love with him, and he used to always cheat on her. I would be able to take him if he did the same to me,” I said, and Emily sighed.

Will you at least give him a chance and go to the movie with him tomorrow?” Emily asked. I thought about it and figured Emily was right. I was starting to gain feelings for him and shouldn’t let my fears stop me from giving him a chance.
