Chapter 84 Such a Farce
“I’ve barely said anything, but the two of you are already so impatient to defame me?” Tasked sarcastically. “But you two seem to have forgotten that you already hooked up with each other even before I wanted to file for divorce.
“Do I have to lay out all the evidence before you’ll drop the petty act? If you don’t mind the public embarrassment, I can certainly play the video to everyone present right now!”
Upon hearing my words, Elsa instantly paled while Jeremiah gritted his teeth.
After a few seconds stuck in this stalemate, Elsa forced a humorless laugh. “You don’t have to slander us just because we exposed the situation between you and Mr. Flint, Jane! Jeremiahi is my brother–in–law, so how could I hook up with him?
“You, on the other hand, have already gotten in bed with another man before even divorcing him and almost ended up pregnant because of that. You wouldn’t listen no matter how many times I tried to persuade you before either. As your younger sister, it really makes me sad ”

It had only been a few days since I last saw her, yet her acting skills had improved again.
Due to Elsa’s goading, the surrounding people were looking at me even more strangely.
Just as I was about to speak, I felt a warm chest press up against my back.
“Jane and I have not been intimate,” said Eric. “If I had to describe the relationship between us, it would be courtship as I’m attempting to win her affections.”
He then addressed Elsa, “Despite being Jane’s sister, you chose to publicly slander her and side with an outsider. In my opinion, your words are hardly credible. After all, if there really isn’t anything between you and Mr. Cornell, then why would you show up here with him behind Jane’s back?”
Eric’s voice immediately put me at ease.
On the other hand, Elsa was so embarrassed by Eric’s rebuke that she had no idea how to respond.
Jeremiah immediately shielded her behind his back.
“Interesting that you mention that, Mr. Flint,” he said challengingly. “Are you saying that it’s fine for you and my wife to attend this exchange meeting together, then? I seem to recall that the two of you were getting all lovey–dovey on my doorstep a few
nights ago.
“What? Do I have to tell everyone here about that incident before you’ll admit to the indecent relationship between the two of you?
I was familiar with Eric’s temper. It definitely would not end well for Jeremiah if he offended Eric here, especially when this was Flint Group territory.
Thinking this, I cast Jeremiah a sympathetic look.
Sure enough, the temperature around Eric seemed to cool rapidly, and he emitted a dangerous chill.
“Since you’re adamant that the relationship between Jane and I is Indecent, then stay put and wait for a lawyer letter from Flint Group, Mr. Cornell,” he said coldly “As for today, I seen to recall that Flint Group never invited you and Ms. Elsa to this exchange meeting Why is it, then, that you have shown your faces here?”
Jeremiah looked embarrassed at that, his tone wilting considerably. “Of course, we were invited.”
Eric had previously refused to cooperate with the Cornells, so how could Jeremiah possibly have been invited? It was easy to conclude that he must have gotten his hands on an invitation through his connections.
He even brought Elsa along to show off instead of attending alone. The whole situation with the two of them was such a farce.
