Chapter 7: Memories With Alpha (Ariana’s POV)
With my mother‘
mother‘ s urn in my arms, I left the city behind, the pull of the wilderness calling me back to where it all began. My mother had always dreamed of a life far from the city’s chaos, teaching children in the countryside, and helping those who had lost their way. She had raised me with that same sense of purpose, always giving, always nurturing. And now, I will fulfill her wish.
The old pack in the village I returned to nestled deep in the mountains, far from the world I had known. It was the place. where my mother had first found Scott, abandoned and on the brink of death. Scott was the boy who had become my obsession and taken over my life. He was just a lost strange pup, barely alive when my mother discovered him. She had taken him in, nursed him back to health, and given him a second chance at life. It was a chance he

story.
As I walked through the village, the scent of pine and earth filled my senses, the memories flooding back from the day when my mother had worked so hard to care for Scott even though the pack was against it. He was obviously from someplace outside the forest, and the pack leader was afraid that he would bring chaos to our pack.
I had even resented him back then for taking my mother’s attention away from me; he seemed to need her more than I did. But as he grew stronger, something changed. He would make faces at me, trying to make me laugh, and slowly, my anger faded.
I remember what my mom asked me one day, ‘What do you think about him?‘ Not knowing why she asked that I answered that he seemed okay and didn’t think deeply. Little did I know, she was already

hoping that he would end up together with me because Mother knew she wouldn‘ t stay for too long to be with me.
By the time Scott could walk again, he had become a part of our family. He would help my mother with the chores, fetch water from the stream, and even play with me. But my mother had always known that he didn’t belong there, that his future lay beyond the mountains.
So, when the time came, she sent him away, despite the tears in his eyes and the promises he made to repay her kindness. It was weird that our usual routine felt like someone was missing. Even the way the pack treated us changed when Scott left. It returned to normal, yet it was not normal for me and my mother anymore.
Years later, Scott had kept his promise, he came back. I looked into his eyes and started walking closer.
“Ariana… I’m here to take you as my mate.”

It was the start of my happy life, or so I thought.
I stood at the edge of the pack‘ s territory, gazing out at the vast expanse of trees and the distant mountains that framed the horizon.
This is my home now, my pack, and my
mate.
My footsteps echoed through the quiet path as I made my way to the pack mansion.
As Scott’s future Luna, there was no room for weakness in Scott’s world, and certainly none for doubt. I had been forced into a role I had never asked for, and now the weight of that responsibility felt
unbearable.
I had spent countless hours trying to prove. myself, both to Scott and the pack, but nothing seemed to be enough. I had trained relentlessly–learning pack strategies, honing my combat skills, and even diving into the intricacies of pack

politics. But despite all my efforts, I could never shake the feeling that I was an outsider. A shadow in a world where I was supposed to be the light.
Today, however, was different.
The pack council had summoned me to a private meeting, a gesture that I knew meant something significant. I had been in the pack long enough to understand their unspoken rules and how they operated. It was clear that my role as Scott’s Luna had come with expectations that far surpassed the usual duties. And as I made my way toward the council room, I could feel the air thickening with the weight of those expectations.
When I entered the room, the atmosphere was tense. The council members, six of the most respected wolves in the pack, sat around a large wooden table. Their eyes were all on me as I took my place at the head of the table, feeling the intensity of their scrutiny like a tangible thing pressing

against my chest.
The Alpha’s seat, where Scott should have been, was vacant. He had not come.
“Lady Ariana,” said Elder Gabriel, the oldest and most revered member of the council. His voice was deep, resonant, like the rumble of thunder before a storm. He was a wolf of imposing stature, his silvery fur streaked with age, and his gaze was sharp, searching. “We invited you here today not to test your worth, but to enlighten you of a legacy–one that binds. you and Scott.”
I looked at each council member, my nerves fraying at the edges. What were they talking about? The weight of their gaze was almost too much to bear.
“We’ve watched you, Ariana,” Elder Gabriel continued, his eyes unwavering.
“Watched as you‘ ve trained and

pack. You‘ ve shown strength, but we need
to know something deeper. We need to

“The curse of your bloodline?” I mindlessly repeated, not knowing what will come.
