Chapter 61
After dealing with the haute couture matter, Daphne headed to the underground parking lot to drive home.
Just as she stepped out of the elevator, her phone rang. She glanced at Sebastian’s name, which was unmistakably clear on the screen.
She swiped to answer and raised the phone to her ear with a smile. “Hello, Sebastian. What’s got you calling at this hour?”
“Where are you?“” Sebastian didn’t answer her question and immediately asked for her location.
Daphne walked as she replied, “I just finished discussing something with Garry’s beam, and I’m about to drive home. What’s up?”
“Nothing much. I’m in a good mood today and craving barbecue, but I don’t feel like eating alone. I’m wondering if my future wife will be interested in joining her future husband?
Daphne smiled brightly and was about to agree when she suddenly felt a sharp grip on her wrist.
Turning her head, she was startled to find Wilson standing behind her. She had no idea when he had arrived. His eyes, cold and venomous like a snake’s, locked onto her with a chilling intensity, making him look especially dangerous.
Daphne’s mood shitted instantly upon seeing him, her expression darkening as her voice rose a notch. “Wilson, what are you doing here? Are you crazy? Have you been stalking me? Let me gol
Wilson ignored her outburst. “Are you on a call with Sebastian?”
His grip tightened, and the pain made Daphne fumble. Her phone slipped from her grasp, falling to the ground.
Daphne glazed up at Wilson with anger blazing in her eyes. “Who I’m talking with is none of your business! Let me go! What are you, a ghost? Why do you keep showing up wherever I go? Are you insane?!
Daphne struggled with all her strength, but the disparity in their physical power was evident. She couldn’t break free from his grasp no matter how hard she fought.
Finally, she stopped resisting, and her anger morphed into mockery as she took a step closer With her free hand, she grabbed his tie and yanked it forward with force.
Caught off guard by her move, Wilson was pulled down. At that moment, his face was mere inches from bers, and their breaths mingled in the narrow space between them.
A seductive yet mocking smile tugged at the comers of Daphine’s lips as she said with a hint of malice, “What’s the matter? Isn’t having that httle slut, Yvonne, enough for you, Wilson? Why are you coming after your ex–wife too?”
At her words, Wilson let go of his hand as though it bumed and instinctively took two steps back A trace of disgust flickered in his eyes.
“Was this how you seduced Sebastian too, Daphne?I hate to disappoint you, but I’ve seen everything you’re capable of in bed. I grew tired of you long ago, so do yourself a favor and stop embarrassing yourself.”
Dupline’s playful smile froze on her face, her expression hardening at his cruel words.
Then, her gue tumed icy as she stared him down. “Then why are you here, acting like a rabid dog, grabbing and manhandling me? Why aren’t you off with your little slut? What’s the point of showing up to throw a tantrum in front of me? Stop appearing in my life if you hate me so much!”
Wilson said coldly while adjusting his the, which had been tugged askew, “Don’t act like you don’t know what you’ve done to one. Why can’t you even let her have a private room? Are you that insecure after divorcing me? Do you think you’re worthy of competing with her?”
