Chapter 46
“Sebastian? Why are you here? No, wait. How did you get in?” Daphne’s voice slurred with the sweetness of intoxication.
Sebastian’s heart skipped a beat at that moment. He chuckled and ruffled her hair. “How do you
think I got in?”
“Oh, I remember now! I told you the code, didn’t I?”
“You’ve definitely had too much to drink. So, what happened? What got you drinking like this?”
Daphne pouted her small lips. “That bastard, Wilson, gave my meteorite ring to that little bitch. Do you know what that ring meant to us? It was our wedding ring. It’s one of a kind!”
Sebastian stood up silently after hearing her.
Daphne grabbed his hand and asked anxiously, “What are you doing? Are you leaving too?”
“I’m turning on the lights!” Sebastian said helplessly and gently pried her fingers off.
“Oh Alright. Go ahead.”
The room brightened as the lights came on.
Sebastian returned to her side and picked up where they left off. “I don’t know what that ring means, and I don’t want to know. You’re my future wife. Yet here you are, drinking yourself silly over another man. Have you ever thought about how your future husband will feel about this, Ms.
Yeager?”
His tone was childish and competitive when he called her name. He didn’t even realize that it was
out of character for him.
Daphne was tipsy and didn’t catch the sharpness in his words.
Sebastian scooped her up in his arms just as she was about to say something.
Daphne gasped. “What are you doing?”
I’m carrying you to the bed. Are you planning to sit on the floor all night?”
“But I haven’t showered yet!”
“You’re in no state to take a shower right now. Be a good girl and go to sleep first. You can do that
when you sober up.”
No way I can’t sleep without showering. I can’t stand being dirty.” She was like a petulant child
in his arms.
Sebastian was clearly at his wit’s end. She had no choice but to set her down on the couch instead.

“Fine, sit here. I’ll make you some honey water to sober you up a bit. You can shower after that,
alright?”
Daphne nodded obediently
After drinking the honey water, she sat quietly for about half an hour and eventually felt more clear–headed than before. “I’m feeling better now. I take a shower and head to bed.”
With that, her eyes locked on the man across from her, signaling him to go home. However, Sebastian showed no sign of leaving.
He seemed ignorant about the silent hint in her eyes. “Go ahead. I’m staying here tonight to make sure you’re okay.”
Daphne was speechless. “Isn’t it a bit inappropriate for a man and a woman to spend time alone in the same house at night?”
He laughed. “What’s wrong? Are you afraid that I’ll do something to you? We’re going to get married eventually. I’m not that desperate.”
His words ignited her characteristic pride. She asked him to suit himself before turning around and walking into the master bedroom. She also made sure to lock the door behind her. Her sense of self–protection had grown stronger after everything she had been through.
She could still hear faint noises outside the door when she came out of the shower.
Was he still there?
