Chapter 41
Daphne’s defant expression cracked ever so slightly, and a bitter laugh escaped her lips. “Easy for me? Wilson, you’re not that blind. Which part of my journey to get here has been easy?”
She continued, “You laid out Yvonne’s career path for her from the very start, but what about me? No one did the same for me. Let me make this clear I won’t terminate the Turner Group endorsement contract. If you’re going to force my hand, then let’s see who outlasts who
To someone like Wilson, Daphne’s threats were like a kitten trying to challenge a tiger, so he completely dismissed them. He glanced at her, his gaze cold and indifferent. He then turned to
leave without so much as a pause
“Suit yourself,” he said flatly, his words devoid of any emotion.
After Wilson left, Daphne did not bother arguing further with Hugo: She left Ava and the lawyers to deal with him while she went to meet Sebastian at an exclusive members–only gym where many celebrities worked out. It was a place where even if paparazzi caught them, they would
have a reasonable excuse.
After her workout, Daphne’s skin glistened with a light sheen of sweat, and stray strands of hair clung to her face, giving her an energized and youthful glow.
She heard the hum of a treadmill starting beside her and turned to see Sebastian. She immediately said. “I want to modify our endorsement contract, and I need your cooperation”
Sebastian increased the treadmill speed, looking confused. “Modify? What kind of changes?”
I noticed there’s a clause in your contract stating that if I’m uncooperative during the
endorsement period you have the right to reclaim the payment,” she explained
Sebastian thought for a moment, recalling the clause Misunderstanding her concern, he offered,
The contracts are standard templates from the legal department. If you object, I can have them
draft an amendment to remove that clause ”
“That’s not it “Daphne stopped her workout and looked at Sebastian seriously I don’t want you to
reuse it i want you to reclaim the payment”
“Hub?” Sebastian was completely baffled
Daphne had been a model spokesperson, with events staff praising her professionalism. He
stepped off the treadmill and playfully felt her forehead for a fever “Has Wilson driven you crazy
dough to give up money?”
It’s not that i don’t want 1-1 just don’t want others to benefit from it,” Daphne explained, telling
Sebastian about what happened at Starstruck Entertainment
She gritted her teeth in anger, adding, “Wilson’s tong to force me to terminate the Turner Group
contract just to spite Yvonne, and that bastard, Hugo, wants to extort money from me. I won’t let them succeed!”
This was the best solution Daphne could think of Perhaps it was not perfect, but at least it would not benefit her enemies. Daphne stated firmly, “Sebastian, I’ll be your spokesperson for free.”
“So instead of benefiting others, you’re benefiting me? Am I not ‘others“?” Sebastian asked with a bright smile, seeming to catch a different meaning.
Daphne missed his undertone and nodded matter–of–factly. “Of course not. We’re getting married soon. You’re my future husband. How could you be others?”
“I like that answer “Sebastian grinned.
Then, he pulled out his phone and instructed his assistant to handle the paperwork for reclaiming the endorsement fees.
At the courthouse, Daphne’s lawyer presented the revised endorsement agreement, showing that she had willingly forfeited her fees. Hugo’s legal team was left speechless, staring at the document in stunned disbelief.
