Chapter 25
Daphne thought about it–Wendy and Ava knew more people than she did, so they might recognize Zane from the photo. She passed her phone over to them. “Take a look at this. Does this guy look familiar to you?”
Wendy squinted at the photo, her eyes widening. “Isn’t this Yvonne’s cousin?”
Ava snapped her fingers. “Yes, that’s him! He used to follow Yvonne around as her assistant. I saw him a few times and thought it was odd. This guy looked so laidback. I didn’t get how he could be an assistant. Later, I found out it was because of connections.”
“His name is Zane?”
“Yeah, that’s him.”
Both Wendy and Ava nodded in unison.
Ava’s gaze shifted back to Daphne. “So, he’s the one spreading the rumors?”
Daphne nodded. “Yeah, that’s him. Prepare the materials, and we’ll go to the police.”
After finishing her discharge paperwork, the three of them headed straight to the police station.
As they were leaving the hospital, Ava suddenly remembered something. “I left the materials at home. I’ll go grab them. You two go ahead and file the report.”
After her contract with Hugo ended, Daphne decided to start her own company. But since she
hadn’t found a suitable office yet, she had temporarily set up a workstation at Ava’s place.
It worked out well. Ava was always busy with work and many of the materials were already there,
so it saved them the hassle of moving everything around.
In the car, Wendy, ever the gossip, leaned in and asked, “Daphne, with Sebastiah being so nice to
you, don’t you think he might have other intentions?”
Daphne had thought about this too, but not because she was being vain.
It was just that in her previous life, Sebastian’s behavior toward her had been hard to ignore. But when she went to discuss a potential collaboration with him this time, his response hadn’t been as smooth as she had imagined.
He was a man of mystery.
The police station wasn’t close to the hospital, but as soon as Daphne and Wendy arrived. Ava showed up with the materials in hand. Wendy took the materials and began talking to the officers while Daphne and Ava handled their own part
“Ava, let’s release the statement too. We should an ounce that the police are handling the matter.

and we’ll wait for their investigation results.”
Ava nodded and began drafting the statement right there in the car. Less than two minutes after it
went out, the statement was trending.

The internet exploded once again.
“Daphne is tough! But when will this drama end?”
“Whoever spread those rumors needs to be arrested It’s disgusting to ruin a female celebrity’s reputation like that.”
“Who dares to spread rumors like that in this day and age? They clearly have no respect for the law.”
“Since it’s been reported, we’ll get the truth soon enough.”
“The truth will come out I believe in Daphne!”
Most people, seeing the official police report, chose to believe Daphne. The trending topics that Wilson had suppressed earlier quietly began to rise again.
After a while, Wendy, having finished speaking with the officers, approached Daphne and said, It’s almost all set. I just need you to sign here.”
Daphne had expected it to take longer, but things were moving smoothly.
An officer in uniform walked into the room. “Ms. Yeager? Mr. Turner’s team has already submitted the evidence.”
Sebastian? Was he that quick?
How did he know she would file a report?
Just after Daphne signed, her phone rang. It was Sebastian
“How’s it going, Daphne? Are you happy with my efficiency?”
Daphne’s mood lifted as she answered, her voice light. “So, Mr. Turner, you were sure I’d report this?”
“You’re my future wife. Don’t I know you well enough? I knew you wouldn’t let this slide.”
