Class A and Class D weren’t too far apart, and since Eleanor was by the window, she naturally caught sight of Andrew and Gloria standing nearby.
Watching Andrew stroll casually to Class D while Gloria beamed and linked her arm with his, a pang of jealousy shot through Eleanor. It was hard not to feel anything–after all, Andrew was the first person to show her kindness in this strange new world, and now he was ignoring her for someone else.
But on second thought, there wasn’t much to feel upset over. According to the storyline, they were always going to dote on Gloria, so it made sense that they’d be there for her.
Just as Eleanor was about to turn away and pretend she hadn’t seen anything, another tall figure walked by.
When Eleanor realized who it was, her brows furrowed in irritation, and she asked, “Didn’t you say your brother wasn’t coming? What’s he doing here?”
Liam looked confused, following her gaze to the icy figure outside. “No way. I didn’t even mention the pep rally to him, and he shouldn’t know this.”
Eleanor pursed her lips and mused, “Maybe someone tipped him off, and he came to support you?
Without a second thought, Liam shook his head vigorously. “Not a chance. My brother has this weird blackout in my life. Like, when I sprained my ankle playing basketball, he didn’t find out until a month later. Sometimes I even wonder if he’s even my real brother.”
From her angle. Eleanor could see Liam’s strong jawline. She thought Liam was overthinking it; the two of them looked nearly identical from the side.
“Wait, I just figured it out.” Liam’s eyes suddenly lit up. He slammed his hands on the table and grinned at Eleanor..
“He must have a crush on Gloria. He went to Class D to support her, but then your brother showed up too. Now, they both want to support Gloria at the pep rally, and they’re in a stalemate. It’s like the classic standoff in martial arts novels. The first one to back down loves,” said Liam.
Eleanor fell into deep thought, “His analogy might be a bit off, but he had a point. In this story, it seemed everyone was bound to have a soft spot for Gloria.
Liam continued, “Remember how my brother was all set on marrying you and then you shot him down? With his pride, he’s definitely not going to try that again. So now he’s probably switched gears and is going for Gloria. I mean, at the end of the day, any connection to the Vanderbilt family is good for him, right?”
Eleanor nodded and agreed with his point. If that was the case, maybe she could move on from Stephen, and it might not be the worst thing
But she needed to find a way to get the bracelet off her wrist. It felt like it had a mind of its own, sometimes shaking or clinking, almost like it was reacting to her emotions.
Just then, she felt the bracelet shift again, and it turned more violently this time, as iFit were a kid sulking about being ignored. Eleanor rolled up her sleeve to check, but the bracelet looked as plain as ever.
Rubing her forehead, she thought she was somehow out of heind. She hadn’t been sleeping well recently and was starting to wonder if a piece of jewelry could have feelings
Suddenly, she caught sight of a tall figure in the hallway. The moment she recognized who it was, she leaped to her feet and even knocked over her chair with a loud crash.

Before anyone could react, she dashed out and launched herself into the man’s arms. Her eyes squinted with happiness. resembling a content kitten.
It was Ross Anderson’s first visit to Aloria High School. He’d asked the security guard for directions to Class A of the 12th grade, but there were way too many classrooms to navigate. Just as he was about to find a student for help, a slim figure suddenly collided with him, bringing a soft embrace.
He frowned and instinctively thought it was some kind of trick He was ready to push her away, but he looked down and met those familiar, smiling eyes–the very person he had been longing for while abroad.
“Ross, you’re back. I thought you said you wouldn’t be home until the end of the year.” Eleanor’s face was flushed with excitement, and she hugged Ross tight, unwilling to let him go.
Ross gave her nose a playful pinch and said with a smile, “Yeah, that was the plan, but you’ve got exams coming up, right? So, I came back carly. I went to your old school and found out that you had transferred to Aloria High. I knew it–my sister’s a total genius.
Eleanor flashed a grin, her face glowing with happiness and reliance.
Ross was frem Eleanor’s adoptive family, the Andersons. Though not as wealthy as the Vanderbilts, they led a comfortable life and could meet her basic needs. They’d always doted on her, giving her whatever she asked.
Her adoptive mother, Lilian, had always longed for a daughter, but due to health problems preventing her from having more babies. That was when she decided to adopt a girl from an orphanage, and by chance, Eleanor had just been placed there. It was a twist of fate that brought Eleanor into the Anderson family.
Eleanor had been truly happy with the Andersons. Gabriel, Lilian, and Ross treated her like a treasure.
But they never expected the little girl they adopted to be the long–lost child from the Vanderbilt family. When the truth came out, Lilian almost cried her eyes out, but the Vanderbilt family was powerful. Despite their wishes, they had no choice but to let Eleanor return to her biological family,
Just now, Eleanor’s excitement and the way she instinctively jumped into Ross’s arms, were all driven by the emotions left behind by the original Eleanor in this body.
But as she leaned into Ross, something struck her–there was no discomfort or repulsion. Normally, she’d feel sick even being near a guy, but with Ross, she felt nothing. In fact, she even felt warmth in her heart.
Is it because I know Ross is a good person? Or is it because, after my soul swapped bodies, all those old problems have disappeared? Eleanor thought to herself in confusion.
“Elle! Hey, what’s going on?” Ross called her name a few times, noticitig she was zoned out. He raised his voice a little and asked again. “Ellie What are you thinking about? You’re spacing out while I’m talking to you.”
Eleanor blinked, stepped back from his embrace, and chuckled awkwardly. “Oh, nothing. Just got a little too excited seeing you here. Let’s head to my class, Ross
“Sure, let’s go, Ross replied with a smile.
