Chapter 40
Samuel immediately released me and strode out of the restroom. I leaned against the stall wall
with tears streaming down my face, feeling completely humiliated.
“Come out. I’ll take you out of here,” Leonardo’s voice called from outside.
Even so, I didn’t move and ignored him entirely.
In my previous life, Leonardo barely acknowledged my existence. He seemed like both a participant and an observer, showing me nothing but disdain and indifference.
Because of that, I never initiated a conversation with him in my previous life. I would avoid him
altogether whenever I saw him.
“This is the men’s restroom. Soon, a lot of men will come in. Are you sure you want to face random
strangers looking like this?”
“That’s still better than dealing with you. Do me a favor and leave, Mr. Gibson. The smell on you is
worse than the restroom itself. Did you know that?”
I finally managed to see Leonardo’s usual facade crack for a brief moment. His expression turned
icy, and he shot me a cold glance before turning and leaving.
I groped around to close the stall door, trembling as I buttoned up my dress and straightened the
skirt
Someone else came into the restroom, and I heard the sound of a belt being unbuckled. I waited until the person finished and left before opening the door to step out
Just as I exited, a drunk man stumbled toward me He stared at me for a moment before reaching out to grab my arm.
I said softly. “The last person who dared to put their hands on me should still be lying in the hallway. I’m blind and can’t see, but can’t you?”
The drunken man froze and quickly pulled his hand back. He cursed under his breath about me being a lunatic spying in the men’s restroom and simply stumbled past me. I then extended my hand, feeling along the wall as I moved forward
“You’re heading the wrong way. That leads to the stairs. You’ll fall and break your neck without a cane,” Leonardo’s voice called from behind me.
When I exited the restroom earlier, I had already sensed Leonardo waiting outside. I had been deliberately ignoring him because I could tell he was starting to suspect me.
I wasn’t sure why he was suspicious–was it just because I spilled milk on him?

“Yvie heard that Samuel left you in the men’s restroom and asked me to bring you back,” he said.
Nonetheless, I remained still. I then said to him, “Send Samuel here instead.
“Yvie is shaken up. He won’t be coming for you.”
I didn’t respond further. I stepped forward and began feeling my way toward the stairs.
Suddenly, my wrist was grabbed by him. Both Leonardo and I froze for a moment. I hadn’t expected him to grab my wrist, and judging by his reaction, neither had he
It seemed Yvette’s influence worked on everyone. Even Leonardo, who rarely interacted with others, begrudgingly came to find me at her request.
Then, Leonardo forcibly dragged me toward the private room without a word.
As soon as he brought me into the room, all eyes turned to us. Samuel’s gaze immediately landed on Leonardo’s hand gripping my wrist, and his brows furrowed deeply.
Yvette looked equally surprised. “Leonardo, you…”
Leonardo quickly let go of me. He picked up an alcohol wipe from the table and meticulously cleaned his fingers. It was as if I were filthy
I noticed Yvette quietly sigh in relief before speaking in a tone that was equal parts reproachful and playful, “Leonardo, what are you doing? You only grabbed Jules for a moment. Why bother wiping your hands?”
As expected of the “thoughtful” Yvette. She made sure to emphasize this detail for my benefit, knowing full well I couldn’t see.
Then, she glanced at me with exaggerated concern clearly hoping I’d show some sign of embarrassment.
I felt my way to the table, grabbed a wet wipe, and aggressively wiped the wrist Leonardo had grabbed. Afterward, I tossed the wipe onto the table
Samuel suddenly burst into laughter. “When did you get such a temper?”
His anger from earlier had visibly diminished. Everyone in the room could sense it, including me.
The one whose mood darkened in an instant, however, was Leonardo,
