Chapter 18
I laughed coldly. In my previous life, I was like Samuel. I felt bad for Yvette after I heard about her tragic past.
Actually, many people loved her. She had a cute appearance since a young age, so my parents treated her well after adopting her
But since both of us were young, we lost contact when Yvette was sent back to the orphanage. At that time, I had a high fever and lost my memories As such, I didn’t realize that she was the person my parents adopted in the past.
I only realized that she was my older sister who lived with me for a year when I passed away in my previous life.
“Don’t worry. You’ll find your parents one day,” I comforted Yvette.
Hesitating briefly, Yvette replied with a smile, “I hope so.”
Meanwhile, I smiled and remained silent.
Why would she want to reunite with them?
The Stone family was rich, so how could Yvette bear to reunite with her birth parents?
Soon, the car arrived at the hospital. Since I escaped from the car previously, Samuel didn’t lock me in the car this time. He led me to the nurse’s station.
“I’m friends with the director of your hospital, Mr. White. This lady is blind, so take care of her. If she runs away, you’ll be fired.”
After that, Samuel gently helped Yvette into the elevator.
At the same time, the two nurses looked at each other in shock
“That man seems crazy.”
“I don’t think so. I think he
Mr. White treated him pow is a friend of Mr White. I saw him in the office previously, and
Then, both nurses looked at me again.
“Do you want to sit down? Did you get into an accident? Or did you bump into that man’s girlfriend? Her ankle looks injured, and he’s so fierce with you. Why don’t you call your guardian over so that they can help you?” a nurse asked gently.
I replied politely, “My guardian sold me to him. Since I can’t see anymore, he’s in charge of my necessities and living arrangements.”
The two nur
bad to you?”
were shocked. “That’s illegal! You seem pretty young. Has he ever done anything.
I nodded. “I’m still in university. But what’s considered bad? He bathes me and changes my
clothes for me.”
All at once, the two nurses looked disgusted.
I stood up “Can you follow me? I want to get some hot water.”
“I’ll pour a cup of hot water for you.”
Shaking my head, I said, “I want to do it myself.”
The nurse came to a realization. She probably assumed that I was very wary because I was blind. That was the effect that I intended to go for.
Holding my hand, she led me to the pantry.
After getting a cup for me, she poured hot water into it and looked as though she wanted to say something.
As I didn’t know what she wanted to say, I simply thanked her gently. Then, I hurriedly walked out with my cup.
The nurse said, “Let me help you.”
As I was talking to her, I sensed someone turning the corner. Then, I backed away and bumped into them with all my might. The cup of hot water splashed onto my hand.
I yelped in pain.
The nurse ran over when she saw the scene. “Are you alright? I’m so sorry! I didn’t remind you that someone was behind you.”
My face was pale, and sweat appeared on my face. Shaking my head, I turned to look at the person
I bumped into, ready to suggest that he bring me to a doctor.
Yet I paused once I saw his face.
Gideon looked at my wrist and frowned. While protecting my wrist, he led me to the washroom and washed my injured hand with cold water.
The pain was so great that I looked away and broke out into a cold sweat.
Though I scalded my hand and sprained my wrist, didn’t regret what I did. In fact, I was overjoyed.
1 was in so much pain that everything felt dizzy, and I was about to fall. Yet Gideon carried me. He held me in his arms and walked past the nurse, heading toward the elevator.
Gideon walked very fast, so I watched as the nurse nxiously chased after us but to no avail.
