When? It was when he repeatedly hurt me, accusing me of sins I didn’t commit.
Following the advice of industry friends, I assembled a team and started my own
company abroad.
I also made sure to plan for avoiding the division of assets in the event of a divorce.
Lucas was about to say more when Ava conveniently slid in beside him.
She clung tightly to his arm, trying to greet Mr. Taylor, but Mrs. Taylor wrinkled her
nose in disgust and loudly cursed.
“Where did this skanky fox come from? Smells worse than piss.”
I gave Mrs. Taylor a grateful smile.
Ava looked like she wanted to explode, and Lucas’s face darkened too, but they
didn’t dare offend Mrs. Taylor.
So instead, he pointed a finger at me, angrily scolding.
“Eva, it’s bad enough that you’re pregnant with some other man’s child, but now
you’ve been secretly moving our marital assets!”
In this circle, it’s not uncommon for people to have their own secrets.
But when it comes to moving shared assets, which man wouldn’t be furious at the
thought of losing the wealth they worked so hard to build?
A crowd began to gather, even some of the company’s executives, who looked at me

They started recording something on their phones, probably hoping to share the
drama with the rest of the company.
Everyone in the industry present was someone of importance–Lucas clearly
intended to ruin me.
Ava stomped her foot in anger, then stood behind Lucas, smugly reprimanding me.
“Eva, you’ve been fooling around and got yourself pregnant with some other man’s
child. Do you have no shame?”
“If I were you, I’d jump into that pool and drown myself. How can you stand to show
your face?”
Lucas said nothing, clearly waiting for me to admit my guilt.
The chatter around us grew louder, and even Mr. and Mrs. Taylor looked at me with
concern.
Mrs. Taylor, bless her heart, tried to restore order, but everyone was too engrossin
the scandal.
The judgmental stares felt like hands stripping me of my dignity, leaving me exposed
and humiliated.
I couldn’t help but laugh, and Ava responded by throwing a glass of wine in my face.
“What are you laughing at? Today, I’m going to teach you a lesson on behalf of Mr.
Evans, you shameless slut!”
She lunged at me, her sharp nails aimed at my face.

The viciousness in her attack made it clear she wanted to take out all her pent–up
frustration on me.
Lucas, who had been initially startled, watched calmly, almost encouraging Ava with
his eyes to continue tormenting me.
I kicked Ava in the abdomen, sending her crashing into the champagne tower behind
her, leaving her in a pitiful state.
Her pale arms were marred with cuts, some deep, some shallow, leaving ugly scars.
She twisted her face in rage, ready to retaliate.
“Eva, you witch! I won’t let you destroy Mr. Evans’s reputation!”
But before she could act, a group of burly bodyguards burst through the door, led by
a nearly 200–pound woman.
The woman roared in fury, “Ava! You filthy slut, you think you can seduce my
husband? You’re dead!“”
