Rodney gave me a few days off, fearing that the frenzy of the media might find me.
I found myself quite at ease, watching as my reputation soared online with everyone trying to dig into my past.
Unfortunately, I was just an ordinary
person.
The online curiosity about me only grew. [How did the renowned designer Jaylon end up with such an ordinary woman? What kind of magic does she have that captivated him so?]
[He even rejected a beauty like Nadia!]
The controversy about me online grew, with evident disparagement
overshadowing praise.
Jaylon soon issued a statement. In the video, he appeared much more composed, dressed in a T–shirt, just like when we first

met.
“The rumors and slanders about Aurora online are false. I will pursue legal action against those responsible. I hope everyone. will leave her peaceful life undisturbed.”
I smiled and shut up my laptop.
After all, in a few days, it would be time for me to say goodbye to this place for good.
On the day of departure, I was surprised to find that Rodney was accompanying me.
“The headquarters said they needed someone to keep an eye on you, and it
looks like it had to be me.”
He chuckled and scratched his head.
I laughed and shook my head, finding him to be a genuinely warm person.
Seeing my heavy luggage, he helped me
check them in.
I stood quietly, waiting for him and admiring the cityscape outside the window

in these final moments.
Goodbye to everyone who loved me and whom I loved.
“Aurora!” An anxious voice pulled me back to reality.
I turned around to see Jaylon who was breathless. I instinctively took a step back.
He had a trace of sadness in his eyes but still managed a smile.
“I came to see you off, fearing I might never see you again in this lifetime.”
I smiled faintly, “Perhaps that’s for the
best.”
His eyes reddened as if he were struggling
to control his sadness.
“Aurora, I know I can never make up for what I’ve done. I just want to say one last thing.
“I love you, and I am sorry.”
I finally smiled widely, waving my hand.

“Some things are best left in the past. It’s the best ending.”
“Aurora, we need to board!” Rodney called out.
I turned to take one last look at Jaylon but found that he was gone.
I sighed and said lightly, “You were once unattainable to me, and I hope we can both live happily from now on.”
Rodney asked anxiously what I had said to Jaylon. I reassured him it was nothing important.
His eyes were full of concern as he looked at me, and I understood what he was thinking.
Since I had chosen a new life, why not try a new relationship?
I pretended to sleep, but couldn’t stop the smile on my face. Then I rested my head on Rodney’s shoulder.
I felt his body stiffen at first, but then a

warm embrace enveloped me.
It was nice. From now on, I had someone
who was standing by my side firmly.
