Chapter 47
According to the laws, females could have multiple male partners. But males couldn’t unless they ended their existing partnership before seeking another mate.
Emily thought that although the child would be adopted, Lester would still be her first partner and legal husband. Since the child would be biologically related to her, they would still recognize him as a father figure and treat him as such.
Besides, this scenario had happened before. Thousands of years ago, a powerful family faced the same problem. Their successor’s psionic strength was so overwhelming that it caused the tamily bloodline to die out. But they managed to keep their bloodline alive by adopting a child from a distant family branch.
Emily quickly softened her expression and tried to look as gentle as possible. “Lester, we’re going for our wedding photos later. What style do you like? Let’s discuss it beforehand.”
As always, he replied indifferently. “If you like it, that’s all that matters.”
Emily forced a smile and fell silent.
After exciting the station, Daphne followed the directions from the navigation system and was overwhelmed by the many different shops she saw along the way. The destination was still half a mile away, but walking wasn’t a problem. She stopped at a supermarket to grab a sweet drink and recharge.
After stepping out of the flying car, Lester’s gaze lingered on the nearby towering building ahead, which had “Silvervale Hospital” written on it.
Noticing his interest, Emily quickly explained, “There’s a boutique brand here. I saw their wedding dresses in a video, and they looked amazing. You’ll have to help me pick one.”
“Okay.
Daphne was too focused on the navigation system to notice the person in front of her, so she bumped into them.
“I’m so sorry, I didn’t see you there,” she apologized.
The woman Daphne had bumped into was friendly, and she waved it off with a quick “No worries,”
rries,” before they both went on their way.
When Daphne stepped into the hospital, she felt her nerves kickin Hospitals had never been a comforting place for her.
She headed straight to the obstetrics department and checked in, where she was greeted by the same doctor, Sylvie, from her last visit. After speaking with Renwick, Sylvie still hadn’t received a clear response. For safety’s sake, she asked Daphne to undergo another blood test.
As the blood slowly drained from her body, Daphne’s vision went black, and she fainted,

As the left the hospital, she recalled the doctor’s words. Her body was too weak, so she needed to test for two days before proceeding with the abortion
Alas, another day wasted. Sly regretted not asking the doctor about the abortion on her first visit, but at least she had managed to reschedule it for three days later.
Still recovering from her low blood sugar, Daphne noticed people staring at her as she walked down the street. A young woman even stopped and asked if she needed telp
