After taking care of everything at home, she finally had time to think about her own situation.
She stood in front of a full–length mirror, placed a hand on her belly, and gently stroked it. There was a life growing inside her, and she had meant to get rid of it. Daphne had left him decisively, so why did Lester still come back to help her? Why couldn’t he just pretend they had never met?

By the time Daphne supped out from her daze, Lucien had already tumed the living room into a mess. Dog food was scattered everywhere, the water bowl was knocked over, his bed was ripped apart, and the couch wasn’t spared either.
All she could think was that he was currently attacking her pillow.
“Luc, stop it! This is a rented apartment. You can’t chew the pillows,” she shouted.

With a sharp rip, the pillow split in two. As Lucien turned his sights on the couch, Daphne grabbed a broom and swung at him. He dodged effortlessly around her while she struggled to keep up.
Seeing the defiant look on his face, she pretended to stand up. But as soon as she was halfway up, her vision went black, and she nearly passed out.
Daphne rested on the couch for a while, and Lucien seemed to sense her exhaustion and finally stopped causing trouble.
She already had her hands full with just a dog and a toddler. If she had more kids, she’d never catch a break. Besides, her body didn’t seem suited for pregnancy- even the slightest exertion and she’d falur.
Now that Daphine had legal status, she could finally go to a hospital for a check–up. As long as she avoided a full–body exam, there was no risk of anyone discovering she was a human. After all, her vitals closely matched those of the Apekins.
After cesting all morning, she left Ellie at home and went to the hospital alone in the afternoon.
She was afraid to go to the Hildi Beastkin Hospital. It was owned by the Waltzan family, and any record of her visit would inevitably reach Lester, Then, he’d find out she was pregnant with his child.
So, she went to the Silvervale Hospital Instead.
