Chapter 3
After speaking, Ramon led Patricia back to the table and sat her down on her chair before returning to Lucia’s side. Patricia looked up and observed Ramon, who was busy calming Lucia down. Noticing her gaze, Ramon shot him a warning with his own. Patricia, suppressing her bitterness, picked up her bowl and, enduring the pain, began to eat bite by bite until she was finished. With her head down, tears fell into her bowl. Each bite of food, mixed with salty tears, went down her throat like fire, and she didn’t know if it hurt her stomach or her heart more. The dinner ended in Patricia’s silence and the intimacy between Ramon and Lucia. Just as she put down her bowl, the sound of a car was heard from outside. “It must be my package.” Lucia said with a smile, running towards the door. Ramon, however, turned to Patricia: “From today onwards, Lucia will move here to live with us.” He carefully observed Patricia’s expression, as if he expected her to make a fuss at any moment, refusing to allow Lucia to move in. But after what happened, Patricia had already controlled her emotions and calmly nodded, “Understood.” Seeing her calm reaction, Ramon felt unaccustomed for a moment; a strange feeling spread from the bottom of his heart. At this moment, Lucia came back and naturally took his hand. “Ramon, which room am I going to live in?” With Lucia’s return, Ramon put aside that strange feeling and smiled fondly at her, “I’ll show you the rooms, you can choose whichever one you like.” The three of them went upstairs to choose a room for Lucia. After asking about Ramon’s room, she headed straight for a bedroom next to her own. As she watched Lucia walk away, Patricia felt an ominous feeling and quickly followed her. Entering the room, she saw Lucia inspecting the place and heading straight for the closet. “Ramon, I like this room, I’ll choose it.” Just as Lucia knocked on the closet door, Patricia, without thinking of anything else, ran to stop her. “No! This is my room, I won’t allow it.” At Patricia’s vehement reaction, Ramon instinctively frowned and rebuked, “What a rash way to act! Lucia likes this room, leave it to her and I’ll ask the maid to clean another one for you.” But no matter what he said, Patricia was still leaning against the closet, refusing to let go. Seeing her obstinacy, Ramon, holding back his anger, said, “I see that I have spoiled you too much.” The two remained at an impasse, until Lucia stepped in to mediate, “Okay, if Patricia doesn’t want to, I’ll choose another room.” Ramon watched Patricia, still stubbornly standing in front of the closet, and finally laughed with an air of resignation, saying on purpose, “Well, if she doesn’t want to, then you move into my room.” Hearing this, Lucia blushed and snuggled into his chest, while Ramon,After saying that, he led her out of the room. As he walked out, Patricia saw Lucia raise her hand with a look of confusion and ask, “Strange, why do I have blood on my hand? I’m not hurt…” After he walked out, Ramon ordered Lucia’s things to be taken to her room. As the servants came and went with the luggage, Patricia didn’t care about it and hurriedly closed the closet door with trembling hands. Only Patricia knew where the blood on Lucia’s hand came from. Because she had touched the closet, and inside the closet, was Patricia’s body. Patricia closed the door and then found some tape in the room to seal the closet tightly, as Lord Mortius had told her that if her body was discovered prematurely, she would have to disappear early. After making sure everything was in order, she went down to the living room to drink a glass of water. As she passed by Ramon’s room, she saw through the half-open door that he was kissing Lucia. He closed his eyes and looked away, not looking any further, and walked over to the calendar, where he tore another page off the countdown timer.
