Cedric was slightly annoyed. He snapped, “It’s not what you think it is. Stop asking questions and don’t do anything unnecessary, understand?”
Magnus shrank his neck and replied, “Okay, okay. I get it.” He wondered why Cedric was so angry about him asking a few questions.
Cedric eventually shifted the topic away after finishing listing out his instructions. “So you wanted to invite her onto the team?”
“Yeah. I did think of that, but it’s mostly just to annoy Lucas. He’s got no skills, yet he’s barking the loudest. I heard that he doesn’t get along with his sister, so I thought I’d take advantage of the situation.”
“Wait until her exams are over if you want to recruit her. Before that, don’t bother her so as not to distract her.”
After Cedric hung up the call, Magnus immediately turned around to add Noelle as a friend in the game. He wanted to figure out the exact relationship between her and Cedric.
He had never seen Cedric hang out with a girl before, let alone treat her so well!
- A month passed in the blink of an eye.
Noelle watched as the countdown hanging in the classroom turned to zero. She had been waiting a long time for that to happen. From this moment, she would start anew and correct everything that had gone wrong in her previous life.
She headed to the infirmary after classes were over.
Alfred waved and greeted her. “The exams begin tomorrow. Are you nervous, Nelly?”
She replied, “I’m not nervous at all. If anything, I’m looking forward to it.”
Noelle looked at Cedric, who was sitting on a chair in his white coat. Even though his attitude was indifferent, she knew that he was a good person at heart.
When their eyes met, Cedric noticed the anticipation within her eyes and quickly understood her thoughts.
He calmly said, “Good luck.”
Noelle smiled and replied, “Thanks. I’ll be going now. Bye!” She had gone to the infirmary just to hear those two words from him in person. There was almost no one else aside from Cedric who genuinely wished her good luck.
After she left, Alfred clicked his tongue and said “What a sweet little disciple you have there!

Cedric ignored his comment and simply closed his eyes to feign a nap.
“Cedric, shouldn’t you be going back once her exams are over? Or are you planning to look after her for the rest of her life?”

He never thought about how long he would watch over Noelle, as he had always been doing
whatever he wanted.
The college entrance exams had begun.
Noelle managed to get a good night’s sleep and woke up refreshed the following day. She headed to the kitchen to make pancakes for breakfast.
Meanwhile, Xenia was still coughing weakly, seemingly not yet fully recovered from her cold. Frank was visibly concerned. “Are you okay, Xenia? You’ve been sick for an entire month!”
Gordon was slightly panicking. “The bad cold must have been because Ms. Quigley was drenched in the rain.”
Noelle pretended not to hear anything, as it was none of her business.
Xenia tried to smooth things over and said, “It’s just my body being weaker than normal, Frank. It’s my fault for being so careless to catch a cold from the rain.”
“Don’t think like that, Xenia. Just do your best, and don’t put too much stress on yourself for
now.”
Noelle simply focused on eating her breakfast and ignored everyone else. She had been preparing for the exam for so long. She refused to allow anything to ruin her mood now.
Later on, Frank personally drove Noelle to the school for the exam. It started to rain on the way. While it helped cool down the morning sun, it also caused traffic to build up.
Xenia, still looking pale and sickly, said, “Good luck on the exam, Noelle.”
Noelle turned her head to look out of the window and said nothing.
Xenia bit her lips in frustration and cast a quick glance at the driver seat, but Frank remained silent. If this had been in the past, Frank would have definitely reprimanded Noelle on the spot. Xenia had worked hard for an entire month, but nothing had changed!
The car soon arrived at the school. When Noelle got out of the car, all of her stationery fell out of her bag. As she bent down to pick up the scattered items, she realized that all of her tools were defective!
