It seemed like capitalists were always watching, silently taking note of who left work first. I grumbled to myself, trying to reaffirm the image of Alex as an evil capitalist. I was hoping to suppress the feelings that had developed for him in my heart.

But I knew I was in the wrong, so I pretended not to hear and tumed my head away, to my heart, I vowed to one day stomp on Alex and surpass him.
As the Land Rover pulled up to the massive villa, I snapped back to reality. When I stepped out of the car, Mr. Hastings Senior and Mom were waiting for me at the entrance. “Mr.Hastings Senior, Mom,” I greeted them politely.

“No, not at all,” I denied three times in ash. “Mr. Alex–A–has actually been quite nice to me,”
“I’ve heard about the incident at the company” Mr. Hastings Senior gestured with his hand. “Given your position, Serena, you should receive special treatment. You shouldn’t feel pressured.”
“That’s not necessary, Mom Interjected quickly. “Serena, I’m happy that you’re working at Hastings Group. But please don’t cause any problems or cause tumors about Alex to spead at the company”
In reality, It should be Alex who should avoid causing issues or gossip for me. However, I couldn’t bring myself to look at him at that moment. Instead, 1 kept my eyes lowered and focused on mantaining a calm and collected demeanor.
“Coin and let’s start dinner” Mr. Hastings Senior’s face was beaming with joy. “Nicole has prepared a feast tonight, She made all of your favorite dishes.
True to his words, the table was filled with halt of my favorite foods while the other half were Alex’s favorites.
Just like when he was a child, Alex still had a sweet tooth for food. He preferred dishes like honey–mustard glazed ribs and honey–glazed chicken fillets.
On the other hand, I enjoyed combinations of different meats and argetables, as well as a variety of soups.
Throughout the meat, couldn’t help but sneak glances at Mora. Her smile never left her face, and it seemed to grow even wider when she noticed me watching her. Mr. Hastings Senior would uden serve her dishes that were her favorites.
