Since Cynthia was hungry, and they happened to be near Roncrity University, she and Jonathan headed to the bustling street lined with food stalls near the university town.
The sides of the street were lined with various food stalls, smoke swirling in the air with bustling crowds all around, filled with a lively atmosphere. Cynthia thought about when she had just started university. She and Lilian used to come here often.
Eating grilled fish and gossiping about the school’s notable figures or handsome celebrities. Looking back now, those days were truly a rare time of freedom. Thinking of Lilian, Cynthia felt a little nostalgic.
Suddenly, Jonathan took Cynthia’s hand, weaving through the crowd. He said, “Let’s pretend to be college students for a day.”
Cynthia chuckled. “Do we look like college students?” She was dressed in a sleek black dress, with flawless makeup. They were worlds apart from those fresh–faced college kids.
Jonathan was dressed in his usual suit. Cynthia thought about when she had just started university. She and Lilian used to come here often.
Jonathan led Cynthia straight into a clothing store by the street. He quickly picked out two outfits and said, “Come on, let’s change first.”
Jonathan picked out a set of couple hoodies, one in white and one in black, each featuring adorable cartoon designs on the front. Jonathan shrugged off his jacket and quickly pulled the hoodie over his head, finishing in no time.
As Cynthia tried to take off the dress, a strand of her long hair got tangled in the pearl button. She struggled for a while but couldn’t free it.
Jonathan, however, sat calmly in the driver’s seat, not turning around. He watched Cynthia with interest through the rear- view mirror.
Cynthia turned around and gave him an exasperated eye roll. “Can’t you lend a hand here?”
Her makeup was exquisite, and her eyes brimmed with allure–not anger, but a look so seductive it was almost intoxicating. Jonathan’s lips curled into a faint smile as he turned slightly to the side.
Then he carefully untangled her hair, strand by strand, from the inside. A few buttons at her neck had already been undone, revealing one side of her fair shoulder.
After Jonathan had undone it, his large hands naturally rested on her waist, pulling her close from behind. His lips moved along her bare shoulder.
Cynthia gently pushed him, teasing. “I’m hungry, let’s eat first.”
Jonathan’s voice was a bit husky. “Me too.” But his hands didn’t let go, instead, he tugged down her dress, exposing her skin to the air.
Cynthia shivered involuntarily. As Jonathan kissed her, he casually turned up the air conditioning a bit in the car.
But soon both of them felt hot again. Cynthia leaned back against the seat.
After a deep kiss, she gently nudged Jonathan’s shoulder. “Don’t, we’ll embarrass ourselves here.”
Even though it was a parking lot and their windows were tinted to keep prying eyes out, they could still see people occasionally passing by.
Jonathan chuckled at Cynthia’s comment about embarrassing themselves, Cynthia naturally understood his thoughts.

After taking a deep breath, he gave Cynthia’s rosy lips a quick peck. “You’re overthinking it, just a little appetizer.”
Cynthia quickly changed her clothes. She had wiped off her makeup and tied her wavy hair into a high ponytail.
The two of them stepped out of the car, once more surrounded by the lively atmosphere of the bustling streets. As she wandered through the food stalls again, Cynthia’s mood had completely shifted.
Jonathan looked at the woman beside him. Despite not wearing any makeup, her delicate face appeared exceptionally beautiful. Especially her pair of eyes, which seemed to gather the stars and the ocean within them.
He thought, ‘She fit right in with the college students, truly looking like one of them. Even though her face was the same, her vibe had completely changed!
Jonathan felt a bit regretful. In just five minutes, two male college students had already come over to ask for her WhatsApp. Naturally, Jonathan blocked them from approaching. To assert his claim, he directly took hold of Cynthia’s hand. Cynthia laughed at his childishness, saying, “Do you really think I’d be interested in these immature kids?”
Jonathan replied, “You never know. I’m not sure if you can give up your liking for pretty boys.”
Cynthia was at a loss for words, ‘Wasn’t he the only pretty boy she was interested in? Was he just competing with himself?‘ Finally, Cynthia took him to a grilled fish restaurant. This restaurant is already considered a time–honored establishment, having been open for decades next to the university town. Cynthia used to love coming here to eat grilled fish. Cynthia found a spot to sit down and, familiar with the place, started ordering while introducing it to Jonathan. “This restaurant is really great. I used to come here often.”
“Don’t be fooled by its small size; the flavors are incredibly authentic and not at all inferior to those of Michelin–starred restaurants. The owner has even patented the recipe and opened hundreds of franchises across the country, making a fortune worth over a billion.”
Cynthia chuckled. “But the owner is an honest person, still running this little place after all these years. Their son takes care of the chain stores now.”
Jonathan was quite surprised. “I didn’t expect to find such a hidden gem here.” Then he asked, “How do you know all this?”
“Well…” Cynthia started to say something but then stopped herself. She flashed Jonathan a bright smile, handed the menu to the waiter, and poured him a glass of water.
“It doesn’t really matter. What matters is that I want to tell you this grilled fish is delicious, so make sure you eat a lot.” Jonathan thought Cynthia was somewhat strange.
The grilled fish arrived soon. The lady boss Mia brought it over herself just as she was about to leave.
She turned back and glanced at Cynthia, then exclaimed excitedly, “Isn’t this Cynthia? You are Cynthia, right?”
Cynthia responded generously, “Mia, it’s been a long time.”
Mia was thrilled to see Cynthia and grasped her hand, reminiscing, “It’s been years! You look just like before, still as beautiful as ever. My son has had his standards raised ever since he laid eyes on you. Now he’s still single!”
The lady’s face turned a bit worried. “If it weren’t for the fact that you already have a boyfriend, you might have been my daughter–in–law by now,” Mia said, before quickly changing the subject. “By the way, aren’t you two planning to get married
soon?”
With a cheerful smile, she glanced at Jonathan, but froze for a moment when she saw his face. Then she hesitantly said, “Filip, you seem to have changed quite a bit…^.
