Chapter 295

Luke kept scrutinizing the photos, checking them repeatedly. They were exactly as Shirley described, without a single flaw. Clearly, she’d long harbored thoughts of killing Cynthia, evidenced by such careful preparation.

“But the Yates family is a prestigious one in Roncrity. How could possibly have the privilege of attending their wedding?” Luke said.

Shirley pulled an invitation card out of her pocket and said, “The reception will be held in the banquet hall on the top floor of the Caesar Hotel. Just bring this invitation to get in. Cynthia is the bridesmaid, so she’ll be easy to spot.

“Make sure to take her out with a single shot. I’ve already arranged for a hacker to access the hotel’s surveillance system, so no cameras will catch you.

“I’ve also bribed some hotel staff–after you act, they’ll cut the power, giving you enough time to escape. Once you’re out, a van will be waiting to drive you directly to the airport.”

Everything seemed meticulously planned, flawless even. The 16 million dollars and Damianus loomed like a fatal lure.

But Luke still had doubts. “What if I don’t manage to escape? Or get caught on the spot?”

The wedding of the Yates family would definitely be heavily guarded. Killing Cynthia couldn’t be as simple as Shirley made it sound. If things went south and he got caught, it could cost him his entire future.

Seeing her plan succeed, Shirley said with a smile, “Don’t worry. This benefits both of us. I won’t let you get caught.” Today was the Yates family’s wedding day, but nobody looked particularly joyful.

They were delicate but grew steadily, inch by inch, reaching beyond the walls to catch more sunlight. What started as a small, unremarkable cluster eventually covered the entire wall, blooming vibrantly under the sun.

generous sum, and send her abroad. In his mind, that was more than fair.

Lilian sat in the dressing room, studying her reflection in the mirror. She was dressed in a pristine white gown and wore a white bridal veil. It was exactly how she had always dreamed.

The secret in her heart was something the world would never understand, something she could never reveal. Yet, her dream was to stand openly beside her. This was the only way. A wave of joy filled Lilian’s heart.

Filip entered just in time to catch the faint smile on Lilian’s face and her entranced expression.

With a sarcastic tone, he said, “Lilian, what filthy schemes are you dreaming up now? Do you dare lay bare your twisted thoughts for everyone to see? To say them out loud? You’re nothing but a monster!”

Lilian’s face darkened, but she quickly composed herself and gave a gentle smile. “Filip, are you jealous?”

Filip found her words ridiculous and replied, “Jealous? Lilian, you’re dreaming. Right now, you mean nothing to me. I just want you to give birth to my child and get out of my life. I never want to see your face again.”

Despite his words, Filip felt a twinge of disappointment and even a flicker of hatred.

“He couldn’t pinpoint exactly what he resented; whether it was that Lilian had ruined his life, her manipulation and deceit, or

haps the fact that she had never truly loved him.

Lilian gently stroked her swollen belly and said, “No matter what, you’re the father of our child. No matter what our relationship is in the future or whether we ever meet again, I will never forget you.”

Filip sneered, “It’s my child, not yours. You’re so twisted, Lilian. You’ll reap what you’ve sown.“.

Lilian chuckled dismissively. “If that’s my fate, so be it. I accept it willingly.”

The two couldn’t agree on a single thing. Filip had grown to despise Lilian to the core, yet underneath it all, he felt lingering resentment and sadness. After all, he had once given her his heart.
