Chapter 185
Even though Nina hadn’t gone through this before, she could tell what the marks on her neck were–they were unmistakably hickeys.
Nina pulled down her collar. The hickeys ran down her neck and spread across her body.
“Ahhh!” Her scream filled the room. Footsteps quickly approached from the hallway. Nina hurriedly gathered her clothes to cover herself.
She glanced over and saw it was the island’s butler. He was an elderly man with salt–and–pepper hair who wore a suit and had perfectly combed hair.
His face always had that smiling expression, as if he was wearing a mask. “Ms. Sullivan, what’s wrong?”
Nina was trembling all over. She had no idea what had happened, but her instinct was telling her that something bad must have happened last night.
“Who was here last night? Who was I with?” Nina’s voice was shaking, and tears were welling up in her eyes.
Her fingers were icy, and she felt like she was submerged in freezing water, shivering with cold. The old butler still wore his kind smile as he said, “You were with Mr. Bennett last night.”
On hearing Jonathan’s name, Nina was initially stunned, but then it was as if all her defenses had been dropped. It felt like being pulled out of water just when she was suffocating.
But Nina felt it was hard to believe. “Really? Are you sure it was Mr. Bennett?”
The butler assured her, “Mr. Bennett stayed in your room all night and just left this morning, but he went to get you breakfast and will be back soon.”
The butler quickly left. Nina’s heart was pounding like a drum. She could barely stand, so she walked over to the couch and sat down.
The despair she felt earlier was now turning into delight, spreading through her like a stream flowing through her veins. She thought, ‘Was it really Mr. Bennett?‘
Nina tried hard to recall the events of last night. Her mind was filled with flashes of memories of a vague and fiery kiss, and tender, lingering intimacy.
She seemed to hear Jonathan’s words echoing in her ears, “Nina, don’t be scared. I’m here.”
‘It was Mr. Bennett! That’s right, I was with him!‘ She remembered Jonathan’s voice. Even though her memories were fragmented and blurry, once Nina confirmed that person was Jonathan, she couldn’t contain her joy.
Nina’s heart started to race on its own. Just thinking about last night made her blush red. While she was lost in thought, Suddenly, she heard footsteps at the door. Nina looked up and, as expected, it was Jonathan.
Nina quickly stood up and called out, “Mr. Bennett.” Then she stood there awkwardly, fidgeting with her fingers.
She couldn’t find a place for her eyes to rest and finally lowered her head, like a child who did something wrong. At that moment, Nina didn’t dare to meet Jonathan’s eyes.
She didn’t know how to handle their relationship now. Nina had many questions. Jonathan said he only loved Cynthia and refused her confession last night.
‘Why then… Nina suddenly thought of a reason. ‘Maybe Mr. Bennett was also drunk.‘

Jonathan walked in, his expression calm but different from usual, appearing somewhat uneasy. “I brought you some breakfast. Are you hungry?”
Nina could also sense the awkward atmosphere. ‘Maybe Jonathan is also feeling embarrassed and regretful about last night’s incident?‘
“Alright.” Nina finally sat down and started eating breakfast. “Do you want to join me?”
“I’ve already eaten.” Jonathan had just bumped into Cynthia at the restaurant. Cynthia told him to have a good talk with Nina and help her sort out her emotions. But talking about such things was definitely awkward for him.
Nina stayed silent and continued eating breakfast. When she was almost done, Jonathan spoke up, “Nina, about last night…”
Nina suddenly shouted, “Mr. Bennett, please stop talking!”
Jonathan’s eyes darkened. Nina turned away, not wanting him to see her face, which was about to turn bright red.
Nina tried to calm herself, but in the end, she spoke with a shaky voice, “Mr. Bennett, I remember everything from last night.”
Jonathan felt a bit worried and stepped forward, “Nina, honestly, you don’t need to worry about what happened last night…” He wasn’t sure how to comfort her.
This wasn’t his forte. Nina felt a bit disappointed, but it was as she had expected. As it turned out, Jonathan had been drunk and not thinking clearly when they had their intimate encounter.

A drone suddenly zipped in from outside the door. A robotic voice echoed, “Please, both of you, return to the castle villa promptly. There’s a couple’s mission.”
The car was already waiting outside. Cynthia was in the car too. In the end, the three of them returned to the castle villa together.
The whole way back, none of them spoke. Cynthia kept watching Nina’s expression. It was clear that her emotions were complex, but she was mostly upset.
Jonathan must have told her about what happened last night. Cynthia initially wanted to comfort her but remembered they were still live streaming, so she stayed quiet.
The three of them were quickly taken to the beach in front of the villa. To their surprise, two helicopters were parked on the beach.
Jessie, Ethan, Preston, and Abby stepped off the plane. They were unexpectedly brought to Angel Island as well. Having already been to the island, Jessie and Ethan looked unfazed. Meanwhile, Preston curiously looked around.
