Chapter 8
Elijah looked a little hesitant.
“I’ll tell her to get an abortion, okay?”
I continued smirking at him. “You really are a piece of trash.”
After that, I got into Alex’s car. I never even bothered glancing at Elijah.
Soon, my divorce lawyer, Daniel Simmons, called me just to console me. “I’m very confident that there’s a 70% chance of the divorce going through during the second trial. There’s no need to be sad.”
I just smiled faintly. “Had the judge chosen to approve the divorce during the first trial, it would have been great news for Elijah.”
“What do you mean by that?”
I didn’t answer Mr. Simmons‘ question at all.
The truth was, I was ready to launch my counter–attack.
That night, I posted a PDF file that I had prepared in advance. The PDF file consisted of everything ranging from Elijah’s first time cheating with Yvonne to the latest
- incident in the current timeline.
There were 20 pages of information in that PDF file. All in all, it basically confirmed the fact that Elijah was a cheating piece of shit.
I uploaded the PDF file to Twitter and a bunch of other social media platforms. Soon, Internet users shared the PDF file with their friends and families. Everyone began discussing the contents heatedly.
Then again, I was no fool. I didn’t choose to upload the PDF file just to entertain the
masses.
When I uploaded the file, I made sure to add a caption to the post. “Those who are currently working with Elijah Montgomery, if you choose to work with my best friend, Alexandria Newman’s company, we promise to give you an additional 5% of the profits.”
Alex’s company was a large–scale one. No titan would ever offer to give away 5% of the profits.
In just an hour, all of Elijah’s business partners withdrew their investments from his company and bombarded my phone with calls.
“Ms. Braxton, is the post on your social media feed for real?”
“Yes.”

That night, I ironed out the details with the business partners till the wee hours of the morning. Before I went to bed, Alex tapped me on the head.
“Here’s a word of advice; don’t go all soft on him this time, okay?”
Alex knew better than everyone else just how much I had helped Elijah during those years when Elijah started his second business. I had pushed myself the hardest during the time I stayed up for two consecutive weeks. Back then, I had blacked out all of a sudden.
When I regained consciousness, a nurse told me that I had been asleep for three days in the hospital.
Hence, Alex knew extremely well that Elijah’s business would suffer massively without my resources and connections.
I shook my head in response. “Why would I go all soft–on him? I’m more than happy to watch him fall.”
“Now that I heard your answer, I feel a lot more relieved now!” Alex smiled at me in relief.
One month later, Elijah stopped outside my grandmother’s house. He began shrieking at me like a madman.
“Jeanette Braxton, get your ass out here right now! Get the hell out! You have the guts to sabotage me, yet here you are, hiding like a coward!”
Grandma had gone out to do some grocery shopping five minutes ago. So, I walked out of the house casually before leaning against the wall.
“What’s up?”
Elijah’s appearance was a lot worse than the last time I saw him. He didn’t even bother shaving his beard, and his complexion looked pretty gaunt.
“You stole my clients and spread rumors about me! Are you trying to drive me up the wall? I knew you were vile from the start, Jeanette! God, I’must’ve been the unluckiest man alive to have married you!”
I merely shot Elijah a fake smile.
“All I did was withdraw my resources from your company. Why are you kicking up a fuss over it? At the end of the day, we’re still husband and wife. Isn’t it better for us to part ways amicably?”
Elijah glared at me angrily. “How dare you bring that up!”
Honestly speaking the longer Heel

Honestly speaking, the longer I looked at Elijah, the more his face disgusted me.
“I will always remember what you did to me during my postpartum recovery period! Elijah Montgomery, I hate you forever and ever!
“If you were any smarter, you would have agreed to the divorce in the first trial! Yet, you kept pulling off disgusting tricks and kept provoking me in court the whole time! You think I’d let you live after all that?”
I did give Elijah a chance to walk away, after all.
Elijah glared at me with bloodshot eyes. Just as I thought he was about to beat me up, he suddenly fell on his knees and slapped himself violently in the face.
“Please forgive me, honey! I know that I’m wrong for doing this! I shouldn’t have cheated on you! Please tell them to come back to me, okay? I can’t survive without you! I really… really don’t want to live like that anymore!”
I merely gazed down at him haughtily.
“You seriously think I’ll forgive you? Elijah, I want nothing more than to watch you die in front of me!”
Elijah raised his head to stare at me in disbelief.
At that moment, Yvonne waddled over hurriedly. She was worried that I’d get back together with Elijah, so she kept glaring at me the entire time.
“Honey, get up! That vile bitch has been trying to sabotage you from the start!”
With bloodshot eyes, Elijah shoved Yvonne away from him with all his strength. Get lost! Don’t touch me!”
Yvonne failed to catch her balance, so she ended up falling to the ground heavily. She clutched her stomach while moaning in pain. Blood quickly trickled from between her legs.
At that moment, Elijah visibly panicked as well.
