“Just because you’re pregnant doesn’t mean you’re a queen! No successful man in this world wants to be controlled by his own wife! Besides, only those who are strong deserve to become my child!”
I thought Elijah would be nicer to Yvonne. Who would’ve thought Yvonne would turn out to be like me instead?
It seemed that Elijah’s so–called love was fake. With his attitude, the object of his affections would always become the victim of his selfishness.
I could only shake my head quietly.
“Honestly speaking, Elijah never changed. He’s always been the selfish type who only cared about himself. In fact, he’s not concerned about anyone else.”
If not for the fact that it’d have been risky for me to undergo an abortion back then, I’d have chosen that route a long time ago.
Alex’s eyes kept darting to the table behind me. She complained about Elijah’s behavior throughout dinner.
I had to admit that Alex was the rare type who was never blinded by anything else in the world. Everything she said hit me right in the heart.
After we were done with our meal, we called for the check. That was when Elijah noticed me.

Elijah was about to talk to me when Yvonne approached him. She forcibly laced her fingers with his before jutting out her baby bump on purpose.
“I’m pregnant! Elijah has been nothing but nice to me! Jeanette, you must’ve regretted your decision now, right?”
Yvonne wanted nothing more than to see a trace of regret on my face so that she could feel better. Unfortunately for her, she’d never see that emotion on my face.
Alex just clicked her tongue. No wonder you’ve successfully become a
homewrecker. Turns out you’re capable of lying to yourself when the time calls for it.

Yvonne’s smile froze on her face.
I couldn’t help but snort in amusement. I was genuinely tickled pink by Alex’s comment.
“Congratulations, you two. Please stay together no matter what so that you don’t ruin other people’s lives ever.”
After that, I dragged Alex out of the restaurant.
Elijah’s expression was thunderous the whole time. He must have felt that I’d lead a terrible life after dumping his ass.
The thing was, my life had been nothing but smooth sailing and successful without him.
The moment we walked out of the restaurant, Elijah quickly caught up to us.
He grabbed my hand before telling me affectionately, “Honey, I miss our son. The childhood specialists all mentioned that babies need to interact with their fathers as much as possible when they’re still young. You can’t just strip our son of his right to spend time with me!
“Let’s go see our son tonight and spend some time playing with him, alright?”
The moment Elijah brought up our son, I shook his hand off me before slapping him in the face.
“Elijah Montgomery, if you still have a shred of decency left in you, you won’t bring up my baby in the first place!
“Let me ask you this–regardless of your identity as his biological father, have you ever changed his nappy for him? Have you fed him any baby formula? Do you even have the right to talk about him in front of me, huh?”

My voice was so loud that many people stopped in their tracks just to watch the drama unfold.

Elijah lowered his head, looking a little awkward. Meanwhile, Yvonne waddled over with her pregnant belly.
She roared at him with bloodshot eyes, “You miss her son, huh? What about my baby, then?”
Elijah shoved Yvonne aside impatiently, his gaze still trained on me. He begged, ” Honey, let’s talk somewhere else.”
“No need for that. We’ll talk in court tomorrow.” I turned him down immediately.
Then, I continued, “Elijah Montgomery, I’ll just say this once. Matthias is my son. Once the divorce trial is over, I’ll have him take over my last name. After that, I’ll find him an amazing father to replace you. From then onward, his life will have nothing to do with you!”
Once I said my piece, I quickly dragged Alex into my car.
Elijah quickly got into the car behind us. Poor Yvonne had to jog over to the car while clutching her pregnant belly. She did her best to bend down and get into the car as quickly as possible.
The way she rushed into the car made her look pathetic and funny at the same time.
The divorce trial took place the next day.
Just as I expected, the judge didn’t approve of the divorce during the first trial. She mentioned that the second trial would be held in three months.
Once I walked out of the courthouse, Elijah quickly approached me. Obviously, he had noticed the way I had put on makeup and wore a cute dress today. My appearance was radiant and full of energy.
He regretted dumping me for Yvonne, to say the least.
“Honey, let’s not get a divorce, okay? Why can’t we just live happily ever after? I’ve already thought it through last night. I’ll dump Yvonne. There’s no need for you two to live far away from each other now.
“I promise you that you’ll be the only woman I’ll ever love in my whole life.”
As I gazed into Elijah’s reddened eyes, my lips curled into a smirk.
“What’s going to happen to Yvonne’s baby?
