Eugene followed as well.
After walking for a while, Eugene stopped in front of a small, hidden door nestled between the rows of neatly arranged shops. The others came to a stop behind him.
“Go in from here. Keep up. By the way, aren’t you afraid I might try to kidnap or even kill you?” Eugene pointed to the door and suddenly said.
One of them snorted coldly, “Go ahead then.
Cherise chuckled and said. “Please, Dr. Garcia, lead the way?
Eugene hadn’t expected them to be so calm. He nodded and said, “Alright, let’s go. We have some gentle little creatures at home. They’re very well–behaved, so don’t panic when you see them.”
With that, he unlocked the hidden door and gestured for them to enter.
Cherise was the first to step inside, with the other three following behind. Eugene locked the door after stepping in last.
Once they passed through the door, everyone, except Cherise, gasped in surprise and opened their mouths wide. “Is this a hidden paradise? I never thought there would be such a beautiful place behind the busy shopping street. Zander exclaimed.
Crow nodded. “Wow, it looks like this place is worth a fortune.”
Hugh stood in front of Cherise, his tone serious. “We need to be cautious, Mrs. Chivers.”
Cherise nodded in acknowledgment, her eyes scanning the surroundings. Honestly, she was deeply impressed. This place had a forest, hills, waterfalls, flowing streams, orchards, and even birds flying around.
It felt like a completely different world compared to the busy TenderHeart Avenue outside–one was lively, and the other was peaceful. She suddenly thought that Carson was certainly not an ordinary person.
Suddenly, Cherise heard some rustling sounds.
“What’s that sound? Hugh asked, having heard it as well, his guard immediately up.
Eugene stepped forward, standing in front of them. “It’s nothing. The animals at home just caught a scent and came out to see what was going on. Kitten, come here!”
He called out, and the next second, a huge animal emerged from the forest.
“Oh my goodness, there’s a tiger here!” Crow screamed, practically jumping into Zander’s arms.
Zander swallowed hard when he saw the tiger. Hugh, though unsure of the situation, stayed firmly in front of Cherise, still on high alert.
Cherise remained calm. After all, having lived in the remote place of Yasvissa and other countries, she had encountered many fierce wild animals over the years. And honestly, compared to those beasts, human nature was far more frightening. That was why she stayed calm.
“Come here, Kitten. Show the guests the way, Eugene said, gently patting the tiger’s head, speaking as if it were a house cat. “Ms. Leach, this way.”
“Kitten? This massive creature is called Kitten. Are you kidding me?” Crow grumbled, clutching Zander’s arm tightly and following behind.

“Alright, let’s keep going: Mr. Garcia likely has many more animals here, but they’re all gentle, so no need to overreact Cherise said.
Eugene, leading the way, couldn’t help but grow more curious about her as he heard her words.
They followed Eugene and the tiger, walking along a long path, drossing a small hill, and stepping over a winding bridge. In just a few minutes, they passed by an anaconda, peacocks, squirrels, ducks, flamingos, and other animals–it felt like they were touring a zoo.
Soon, they arrived in front of a unique villa, surrounded by vibrant red flowers. In front of the villa was a large, lush green
lawn.
Before they even got closer, Cherise could already smell the strong aroma of medicine. Sure enough, on the vast lawn were numerous precious herbs, and some of them couldn’t even be land on the market. It was a full display.
Cherise looked at the scene, feeling surprised. Everything in this yard made it clear to her that Carson was far from an ordinary personL
In front of the villa was a pavilion. Eugene turned to them and said, “You can wait here for a moment. I’ll go inside and see if Mr. Garcia is napping.”
Cherise nodded and took a seat on a small stone bench under the pavilion.
Eugene walked into the villa, and Kitten obediently lay down under the pavilion, eyeing them.
I’m freaked out. I’m scared of Kitten. Wait, not just Kitten, but that snake too. I’m seriously thinking of going back to Saphira, Crow muttered, sitting still and not daring to move.
Cherise stood up and crouched down in front of Kitten. After sensing its demeanor, she reached out and gently patted its head. “You’re so cute.”
Perhaps it was the compliment, but Kitten nuzzled against Cherise, rubbing its head on her.
The other three exchanged glances, shrinking back a little. “How dare she touch that scary creature? I have to say she’s the bravest girl I’ve ever seen.”
About ten minutes later, Eugene came out of the villa
He walked to Cherise and said, “Mr. Garcia has something wrong with his legs, Ms. Leach. He’d like to know if you’d be willing to go in and meet him–just you.”
Cherise nodded, standing up. “Please lead the way, Dr. Garcia. I appreciate it.
