Leaving the bar, Cherise and Morris walked hand in hand like any ordinary couple along the riverside towards their hotel Cherise’s good look drew glances from passersby Morris reached up to pull Cherise’s baseball cap lower over her eyes
“Huh?” Cherise looked up at him, bewildered.
“I don’t want others staring at you all the time, Morris said seriously. Why does he seem even more possessive since we got married? Cherise thought.
Meanwhile, in Hamolica, at Rita’s residence. In the dining room, she sat across from Yulia, watching her eat with satisfaction. “That’s right, nothing is insurmountable. Rest up and prepare for your next move.”
Yulia nodded, finding truth in Rita’s words as she continued eating spoonful after spoonful. After finishing the meal, Yulia followed Rita into her study. An hour later, Yulia emerged looking much better, no longer dejected.
Alone in the study now, Rita picked up her phone and dialed a number that was answered almost instantly. “Hey, Rita,” came Garrick’s voice on the other end.
Rita hummed in response. “Arrange a meeting with that gentleman; I’ll be back in Betrico in a couple of days
Garrick quickly agreed. Hanging up, he swiftly took care of the arrangements. Only then did he remark, “Sure enough, one own granddaughter takes precedence! More precisely, a granddaughter carrying Rayburn’s bloodline is more important than anyone else.”
In Yasvissa, Morris and Cherise strolled leisurely back to their hotel, part of the Chivers Group–a mid–sized resort surrounded by mountains on three sides and the sea on one. They were, of course, staying in the best suite.
The suite featured two large floor–to–ceiling windows, one offering a view of snow–dusted mountains nearby, and the other overlooking the vast inner sea just outside the hotel. It was tranquil and romantically picturesque.
The hotel manager, having heard that Morris would be arriving with his newlywed wife, had the room decorated well in advance. Now, besides the bed covered in pink and red petals, there was wine, champagne glasses, music, and certain branded essentials–all setup.
Cherise was used to freshening up first when they returned from outings. Morris watched the room’s decorations with raised eyebrows, satisfied. This hotel manager did a great job; Steven might consider moving him to Betrico.
A moment later, the bathroom door opened, and Cherise emerged in a bathrobe, her hair still damp, steam trailing behind her. She seemed somewhat awkward, avoiding Morris’s gaze.
“What’s wrong?” Morris asked, noticing her discomfort.
“These robes the hotel prepared are not quite suitable for me, Cherise mumbled, clutching the robe tighter around her.
“I think it looks fine. Is there any problem with it?” Morris asked, puzzled, as he looked around and then added another question.
Cherise’s face was tinged with a blush. “Not the outer one, it’s the inner one that’s… Well, I don’t quite know how to say it.” Morris instantly understood, chuckling softly. “We’re married now, no need to worry about such things. Besides-
Before he could finish. Cherise tiptoed and quickly covered his mouth with her hand. “No talking! Your turn to freshen up, go on. She pushed him into the bathroom and closed the door behind him. Morris smiled wider once, inside.
Chapter 334
Left alone, Cherise, unlike Morris, bring a woman, noticed the room’s decorations, sighing as the surveyed the setup. But remembering they were legally married; she felt more at ease.
Morris soon emerged. Cherise was already seated in a wicker chair on the balcony, gazing at the scenery outside. The wind gently lifted her hair, creating a serene and picturesque scene.
Morris wore the same hotel bathrobe and glanced out at the balcony once more. He picked up the bottle of red wine from the table, poured two glasses, and then stepped out onto the balcony with the glasses in hand.
Just the two of us, let’s have a drink,” he said, handing one of the wine glasses to Cherise as he sat down on a stool beside
her.
Cherise smiled softly at him. “Mm–hmm,” she murmured, accepting the glass.
They clinked glasses, each taking a small sip. Finished, Cherise placed her glass on the side table, propping her chin in her hand as she tilted her head to look at Morris.
Morris leaned closer; his breath warm with wine. Hmm? Sneaking a peek?”
Cherise shook her head lightly. “Nope, you’re my husband now, so it’s fair game!”
This time, even though Cherise had a drink, she wasn’t drunk, but she seemed bolder. Her words, “You are my husband“, sent Morris’s heart racing, and he couldn’t help but kiss her lightly on the check with more intensity.
Cherise laughed softly, then looked up at him with eyes that were beautiful and captivating. “Such a beautiful night, Morris
surely you don’t plan on just standing here with me admiring the view?”
Hearing this, Morris lifted his glass and finished the wine in one gulp, unable to hold back any longer. He swept Cherise into his arms from her reclining position in the wicker chair.
Throughout the night, they were lost in intimate highs and lows. The next afternoon, sunlight streamed through the balcony. Cherise opened her eyes, groggy from their passionate night, memories lingering softly.
“Morning,” Morris said, supporting himself on his strong arm, watching her.
“Mm–hmm,” Cherise murmured..
“Worn out last night, huh?” His voice was low and raspy.
Cherise didn’t feel like speaking. Morris laughed, tenderly. “You must have been; your voice was hoarse near dawn.”
