The weather in Yasvissa was completely different from that of Betrico.
One was warm like spring, while the other was cold and gloomy
Nolan, knowing the complexities of the Hawkins family, had managed to provide a stable refuge for Hannia.
His actions were entirely out of kindness; there were no deeper feelings involved, nor did he have any such intentions.
Nolan said, “Hannia, let nie set some rules. Your stay here is entirely thanks to Cherise. She advised me that, during this time, you should stay here without leaving. Don’t worry; I won’t let you be bored.
“Torin, please bring me the documents we prepared today.”
Hannia was confused by his strange behavior, but since she was staying under his roof, she knew she had to comply.
Torin handed the papers to Nolan.
“First: while you’re staying in my house, you’re responsible for all household chores, including laundry, cooking, and cleaning. Second: you can’t leave without my permission.
“Third: to make sure none of the Hawkins family finds you, I’ll give you a new phone. As you know, I didn’t like the atmosphere when I visited your home.
“Apart from my affection for Cherise, I’m selfish when it comes to others, so I hope you won’t involve me in the complicated matters of your family.”
“Is that all?” Hannia asked.
Nolan nodded. “That’s all.”
She stood up and took the document from his hands. “I expected something much more complicated. As a homebody who doesn’t like going out, I’m good at domestic tasks. I assure you, I won’t cause you any trouble!”
Nolan looked at her. “I sincerely hope that’s the case!”

Meanwhile, in Garrick’s room, a servant brought him a cup of herbal tea.
Gina sat nearby, her concern clear as she asked Garrick, “The toxin you gave Hannia–will it harm her health? Camellia is already gone; I can’t bear for anything to happen to Hannia too.”
Garrick took a sip of tea, a touch of disdain on his face. “Your maternal instincts are touching. Don’t worry, Hannia must align with the Graves family, and the poison is just a way to control her without causing harm.”
Gina sighed in relief. “It’s been two days since she left the Hawkins family. I’ve heard that Betrico University is on break. Should we assume she can return home now?”
Garrick nodded. “Yes, it’s time. Once she’s back, you should talk about an engagement with the Graves family. Since they just -returned to Betrico now is the perfect time to set things up.”
Gina agreed eagerly.
Garrick took another sip of tea and then asked the servant to bring a box from his drawer.
A few moments later, the servant carefully placed an old wooden box on the table beside Garrick.

Gina looked at the box, then at Garrick.

Garrick set his cup down, stood up, and opened the box. After looking over its contents, he took out a golden bell.
Gina’s anxiety grew as she nervously pinched her fingers.
Holding the golden bell, Garrick walked toward the door, staring at the cloudy sky outside.
He muttered an incantation, then shook the bell several times.
He repeated the process, facing south and then north, murmuring another incantation, and shaking the bell again.
The entire sequence took about ten minutes.
Finally, Garrick placed the bell back into the wooden box. “In one hour, Hannia will return,” he said.
At that moment, it was past midnight, and Hannia, blissfully unaware of what was happening, was fast asleep in her bed.
An hour passed quickly.
Inside Garrick’s home, the clock ticked loudly, each second like a heartbeat.
Gina, unable to hide her excitement, stood up and went outside, straining to see the main door at the end of the hallway.
Garrick, on the other hand, remained calm, enjoying his herbal tea, confident in his witchcraft.
However, as time went past one hour and ten minutes, Hannia was still not back.
Noticing the time, Garrick frowned. “What’s going on? This should have worked perfectly by now.”
Gina, hearing Garrick, hurried in, worried. “If Hannia hasn’t left Betrico, she shouldn’t take more than an hour.
“It doesn’t make sense for her to be missing. I had someone track her; after visiting Nolan, she went to Betrico University and then returned to her apartment.”
Garrick shook his head. “Where she is doesn’t matter for witchcraft. Once under a curse, it doesn’t matter where the person is–control can still be maintained.
“But the bell hasn’t chimed again, which means something is wrong. This can only be the work of an exceptionally skilled sorcerer or a powerful counter–sorcerer. To my knowledge, there’s no one of that level here.”
As he spoke, his sharp gaze remained fixed on the overcast sky outside, deep in thought.
Gina, visibly shaken, asked, “What should we do? Hannia won’t return?”
Garrick tapped his fingers on the table, thinking for a moment. “Let’s leave it for now. Everyone should get some rest. Tomorrow, I’ll prepare for my trip to Hamolica.”
