Chapter 316
The journey to Saphira was lively, with the cabin buzzing for several hours.
Aside from a brief two minutes of calm, the plane was filled with chatter, laughter, snoring, the sounds of eating, and the clinking of glasses–all mixing together in a lively symphony.
Morris found himself wishing the flight would end quickly.
He kept rubbing his temples, trying to ease the growing tension in his head.
Cherise, slowly waking up, noticed his furrowed brow and reached for his hand, gently interlacing their fingers.
With a soft, lazy voice, she asked, “Are you feeling okay? You should take a break. We still have an hour before we land.”
Hearing her soothing voice, the tension in Morris’s face relaxed a little..
“I’m fine. Aren’t you going to take a nap?” he asked.
Cherise shook her head, signaling she was staying awake. She glanced out the window. “We must be getting close to Yasvissa, right?”
Morris smiled and pulled her closer, wrapping his arm around her. “Let me share something with you.”
Cherise turned to look at him, her face showing curiosity. “What is it?”
Morris chuckled softly and leaned in to speak just for her ears. “Do you remember how we first met?”
The moment he said it, a flood of memories rushed into Cherises mind.
A sweet smile spread across her face as she recalled, “Yes, we met on the flight from Yasvissa to Betrico.”
Morris leaned in closer to her ear. “Yes, I was sitting next to you in business class. It was the first time I’d ever seen a woman so beautiful; that one look seemed to touch my soul.
“I had never been in a romantic relationship before, so I didn’t know what that feeling was. But at that moment, I felt the flutter of infatuation for the first time. I knew then that I had to be with you forever.”
He paused, his eyes full of sincerity. “Truman might say I was just swayed by appearances, but to me, it doesn’t matter. As long as I can chase after you, even if people call me a rogue, I’ll take it.”
At this, Cherise remembered the first thing Morris had said to her: “You’re beautiful!”
At the time, she’d thought it was a bit forward, and looking back, it was definitely bold for two strangers to start a
conversation like that.
She laughed and said, “Yes, that was pretty bold!” She locked eyes with him, a warm smile spreading across her face.
Soon, they arrived at Yasvissa Airport.
After the plane landed safely, all the passengers disembarked in an orderly fashion.

Though Morris felt a bit annoyed by the interruption, he still made sure everything went smoothly, particularly for the two elders who had watched Cherise grow up.
Once they were off the plane, several luxury vehicles were waiting for them outside.
Both Trent and Marlon praised Morris for his efforts.

Chapter 316
In less than an hour, the copyoy was speeding toward Saphira, fill of excitement.
Trent and Marlon wanted to get out to stretch their legs, so the vehicles stopped near the edge of the village.
Truman was the first to get out, looking around in awe. “Is this paradise? It’s breathtaking! I’d retire here in a heartbeat!”
Trent and Marlon got out next, their spirits lifted as they took in the village’s beauty. “It’s been so many years since we were last here, but everything still looks so wonderful!” they marveled
Morris took Cherise’s hand as they stepped out of the vehicle. She inhaled deeply, smiling softly. “After seven months. I’m back.”
Morris suggested that Steven and the others take care of the luggage while he and Cherise, along with Marlon, strolled through the village.
The village was still small, with only a few homes scattered about, and nature remained largely untouched. Most of the homes were charming villas, but the rest of the land stayed true to its natural beauty.
Xenia stuck close to Marlon, chattering non–stop, her curiosity about everything around her clear.
The quiet village seemed to come alive with their happy chatter
A few of the villagers peeked out, curious about the noise, and once they saw familiar faces, they greeted them warmly. “Cherise, you are back! It’s been so long! Trent? Your hair’s gotten long since we last saw you!
“Marlon, it’s so nice to see you again! It’s been years since we’ve seen you here in Saphira.”
Everything felt so real and unpretentious.
But then, a loud wail cut through the peaceful scene.
Marlon instantly recognized the voice. “Oh, that kid. He’s probably seventeen now. I wondered why he didn’t come out to greet us. Is he shocked to see Cherise? After all, the whole village knows that story.”
Laughter spread through the crowd.
Cherise blushed a little, but a smile escaped her lips. Everything just felt so perfectly right.
Nearby, a well–kept garden was the setting for the arrival of the vehicles.
The grand iron gates creaked open, and a couple in their later years hurried out.
Seeing them, Cherise rushed forward, her face lighting up with warmth. “Dennis, Bella!”
“Ms. Leach! You’re back! Oh my, you’ve brought so many friends with you, including Marlon and Trent! Thank goodness we bought plenty of food this morning! Come inside!”
