Chapter 313
After leaving the Hawkins family, Hannia felt lost, unsure of where to go.
At Glenshire Gardens 2601, Morris sat in Cherise’s living room. He was focused on a report on his computer while watching Cherise move around in the kitchen.
A smile occasionally crossed his face, barely hidden by his amusement.
After a few minutes, the kitchen sliding door opened. Cherise came out, holding a baking tray that smelled wonderful.
Morris set aside his computer and walked over, interested..
On the dining table, there was a tray with a fluffy cake roll that looked delicious.
Morris leaned closer to Cherise and glanced at the table before wrapping an arm around her slim waist. “That looks amazing, my dear.”
Cherise nodded. “It should taste good. Usually, you do the cooking, but today I wanted to try and share the load. This is my first time baking a cake.
“I’ve seen other girls making sweets for their boyfriends, so I thought I’d give it a go. Would you do me the honor of trying it, Mr. Chivers?”
Morris leaned in and gently kissed her softly. “Of course! The first dish made by my girlfriend deserves all my praise.
As he spoke, he pulled her closer, broke off a piece of the cake, and tasted it.
Raising an eyebrow, he nodded in satisfaction and then tore off another piece, offering it to Cherise. “Is this really your first time baking?”
Cherise took a bite of the cake and said, “Yes, it’s my first. I followed the recipe carefully.”
Morris looked at her as if she were a treasure, realizing how good she was at picking things up quickly.
In many ways, she even surpassed him, making others look at her with desire.
He continued to watch her and leaned in to brush his lips against hers.
Cherise couldn’t help but laugh. “What’s going on? You seem different today.”
Morris held her close, feeling the warmth from the underfloor heating in the house. Their light loungewear hugged their bodies tightly.
His breathing quickened as it brushed against Cherise’s neck, sending shivers through her skin and making her heart race. “I’m afraid I have to break my promise to you, Cherise. I can’t hold back anymore,” Morris whispered in a deep voice.
Blushing, she looked up, pressing her soft lips against the kisses he had left on her
Morris’s throat moved as he grew more assertive.
By the dining table, they wrapped their bodies around each other in a passionate hug.
Morris’s large hand instinctively started to explore under her shirt, moving slowly upward. Outside, the air was cold, but inside the house, the temperature kept rising.

Chapter 313
Everything felt like it was going perfectly.
But then, the doorbell rang at an inconvenient moment.
Morris frowned. “Ignore it; let’s go to the bedroom.”
However, the ringing kept going, urgent and unrelenting.
Morris chose to ignore it, focused on taking things further.
Cherise felt a bit embarrassed and gently tapped Morris’s back. “Someone’s at the door. What if it’s important? We should check.”
With that, she pushed his arm away from her waist.
Morris looked at the empty space where she had been, his face showing annoyance.
When Cherise opened the door, she was surprised to see Hannia standing there.
Morris, hearing the exchange, stood in the room and shot Hannia a cold glare.
Hannia, caught off guard by his look, felt a chill run down her spine.
Clearing her throat nervously, she said, “Ms. Leach, um, I hope I’m not interrupting.”
Cherise glanced back at Morris, whose expression softened a bit before turning to Hannia. “Is everything okay? Please, come in.”
Feeling anxious, Hannia stepped inside behind Cherise, stealing another worried glance at Morris.
Morris picked up the laptop again and sat down, his face dark with anger.
He marked the document Leo had just sent with “Redo“.
Hannia sat on the sofa while Cherise lounged comfortably across from her, trying to build up the courage to speak. “Um, Ms. Leach, could you please help my sister?”
Cherise smiled faintly and shook her head. “I can’t.”
Hannia nodded, accepting the reality. While she didn’t expect much, she felt good about trying for Camellia. “Okay, I get it. I won’t take up any more of your time! I’ll be leaving now.”
As she got up to go, Cherise grabbed her arm firmly. “What’s wrong? Ms. Leach?” Hannia asked, confused.
Cherise’s eyes moved to the back of Hannia’s neck, her pupils widening in realization.
Cherise thought, ‘Camellia’s energy centers were sealed. She couldn’t have been the one to put the poison there–so outside of Camellia…‘
Cherise asked, “You went back to the Hawkins family? Who did you meet?”
Hannia nodded, unsure how Cherise knew, and replied honestly, “I met my mother and grandfather.”
“Who else in your family, besides Camellia, would have poisonous creatures?”
Hannia, confused, said, “Other than Camellia, there’s only my grandfather and my father. But my dad has passed away. Why do you ask? Ms. Leach, do you know about these creatures too? I thought it was only my family that knew how.”
Morris, hearing this, paused his work and turned his attention to them.
