When Camellia heard Cherise’s name from Yulia, she suddenly tood up from her office chair, her expression darkening. “Cherise! That same Cherise? The professor from Betrico University?”
“Do you know her too, Camellia?” Yulia asked over the phone.
Camellia’s lips twisted into a wry smile. “Of course! How could not know her?”
She was a woman whose presence made others envious, especially being Nolan’s favorite.
Camellia said. “Yulia, don’t panic. How could Cherise know about our plans? Maybe she’s just trying to rattle you. You’ve always been soft.
“Don’t let fear take over, and definitely don’t back down. Leave the rest to me; you don’t have to worry!”
Yulia cut in, “No, no, she really knows. She even found out about our phone calls, tracking them to the half–hour before and after you talked to Ms. Mellett. She knows we poisoned Ms. Mellett.”
“What?” Camellia was shocked.
Camellia thought, ‘How could this happen! That kind of secret knowledge should only belong to the Hawkins family- outsiders shouldn’t know:
Camellia had planned to wait a few days to take over GlobalVision Group before dealing with Cherise.
But now she realized she had underestimated Cherise, time was of the essence.
Camellia said, “Yulia, listen to me. Have a glass of milk, get some good sleep, and don’t think about anything else, okay? If anything happens, you have me, and grandma–you’re safe.
“Think about Morris; you’re back as a head professor, which makes you a great match for him–your roles fit perfectly!”
The mention of Morris pulled Yulia back to reality,
She thought, ‘I need to be enough for Morris.”
Yulia was in love with this man she had adored from the moment she first saw him.
Conflicting feelings flooded her–guilt for her mistakes mixed with a desperate yearning for the man she loved.
Noticing Yulia’s silence on the phone, Camellia recognized her wavering strength. “Alright, Yulia, be a good girl and take a nap. Everything will be fine when you wake up.
“Remember, those without desire aren’t easily swayed by outside influences. Ms. Mellett is upset about being overshadowed by a younger professor.”
After Yulia ended the call, Camellia settled back into her chair.
She rubbed her temples, thinking over Yulia’s words.
‘Cherise, if you know about the poisoning and can trace it back to us, then I have definitely underestimated you.
I planned to give you a few days to sort things out. But since you’ve put yourself in the line of fire, I won’t hold back anymore.
With a fierce look at the clock on the wall, Camellia dialed a number.

Meanwhile, Cherise drove toward Ebb & Flow, where she was set to meet Xenia.
Xenia wanted to talk about Jason with Cherise.
When Cherise arrived at Ebb & Flow, she paused before getting out of the car.
Settling back in her seat, she thought for a moment before dialing a number on her phone.
When the call connected, Berenger said, “Hello, Cherise.”
Cherise replied with a soft laugh. “Hello, Mr. Winter. I need your help.”
On the other end was Berenger, the chief of the Central Police Bureau in Betrico.
Berenger responded warmly. Just tell me what you need. Are you facing a problem you can’t handle?”
Cherise smiled brightly in the driver’s seat, thinking about her greatest luck in life–her alliance with Saphira and their quirky crew.
“Release Addje.” Though her request had a dark edge, part of it came from empathy.
For a retired professor, having her reputation ruined was the worst punishment.
Understanding Cherise’s principles, Berenger didn’t question her motives, sensing there was more behind her actions
He replied with a chuckle, “Alright, Cherise. Don’t worry! I will take care of it. How have you been lately? Trent mentioned you’re in a relationship.”
Cherise felt warmth in her heart as she exchanged light banter with Berenger before leisurely entering Ebb & Flow.
