Today, only Cherise showed up
She had no company, not even Hugh.
Cherise looked around and her eyes landed on the neighboring state.
She thought of Megan, the elegant woman in the photo, who looked strikingly similar to her.
Suddenly, the door of the Hawkins residence swung open, and Vilia stepped outside.
Seeing Yulia come out, Cherise’s lips curled into a smirk.
As she leaned against the car, Cherise watched Yulia approach, who greeted her with a polite smile.
With each step Yulia took closer, she had the chance to take a good look at Cherise.
Cherise was remarkably beautiful and had a charming presence that seemed to reveal something new each time they met.

Yulia nodded. “Alright, I’m curious about why you’re here, Ms. Leach.”
“First of all, congratulations on becoming head professor of the Traditional Medicine Department at Regalwood University again, Cherise said, looking straight at Yulia with false sincerity
Yulia paused, surprised by the congratulations. “Thank you, but I still have much to learn from you. Many students in our department really like you.”
Cherise’s smile faded as she continued, “Ms. Muller, what do you think about Ms. Mellett’s arrest?”
Yulia blinked, caught off guard by the question. “I was shocked by Ms. Mellett’s actions; it’s quite unfortunate. She has great knowledge and a lot of teaching experience.”
Hearing this, Cherise chuckled softly, a hint of coldness in her voice.
Yulia was confused by her attitude.
After a moment, Cherise suddenly lifted her head and fixed a sharp gaze on Yulia. “Did you poison her?”
Yulia’s mind went blank as if a shockwave had hit her. She couldn’t find the words.
Cherise stood up straight, no longer leaning against the car, and moved closer to Yulia.
In a whisper, she said, “Your demeanor has changed; it’s nothing like the passion you showed during the traditional medicine competition.”

Cherise scoffed and said, “Since I was able to find your address and phone number, I was here full–prepared. Camellia is your cousin, right? She visited Ms. Mellett the day before the exam.

In that moment, Yulia felt as if a heavy weight had landed on her shoulders, making it hard to breathe, overwhelmed as if she were drowning.
“My first impression of you was good; getting your call logs would be easy for me. A fine young lady like you should not belittle herself.” With that, Cherise released her grip on Yulia’s shoulder and smiled as she opened the car door
In one smooth motion, she started the engine, released the handbrake, and pressed the gas pedal.
It felt like Cherise had just delivered the most terrifying message with the sweetest smile.
All that was left behind, for Yulia, was a faint trail of exhaust fumes.
Once Cherise’s car disappeared, Yulia collapsed onto the ground, where the melting snow soaked into her clothes.
A chill went through her, and her mind slowly cleared.
An emotion that had been hidden inside her burst forth at that moment.
Tears filled her eyes. “I didn’t want this. I truly didn’t want to harm anyone. I can’t understand why I’ve become like this;) hate myself.
“Camellia said that if Ms. Mellett had no bad thoughts in her heart, she wouldn’t be easily controlled. What should I do?” After a moment, Yulia shivered as she pulled out her phone, her trembling fingers dialing a number.

Yulia, with red eyes and a choked voice, replied, “Camellia, did we make a mistake?”

Yulia shook her head vigorously while gripping the phone tightly. “But Cherise just came to see me, she knows everything. She is much stronger than I expected! It seems that she has a grip on all the details.
