The snowfall grew stronger, and a thick layer of snow covered the ground outside
What should have been a happy celebration turned into a gloomy day for all the students in the Traditional Medicine Department after news of Calvin’s zero score spread.

Addie’s heart sank. “What? This accusation is ridiculous! I’m a professor. Do you have any proof? You can’t arrest someone without evidence. I seriously doubt you are real officers.
“I refuse to cooperate! I want to contact my lawyer.”
“Since you don’t want to help with our investigation, we can’t guarantee your comfort. The lead officer exchanged looks with his colleagues.
In an
instant, the three men restrained her.
The whole building echoed with screams as many neighbors peeked out to see what was happening.
As Addie struggled against her captors, she yelled loudly, looking anything but dignified as an academic.
Half an hour later, Addie was taken into an interrogation room.
When the door opened, a striking figure was inside.
Seeing Cherise immediately made Addie feel uneasy. “Ms. Leach do you disapprove of me so much that you called the police?”
Turning to the officers, she said, “Sir, she’s the one who filed the complaint, right? Just look how young she is; she must be slandering me.”

The officers ignored her accusations and went to Cherise. “Ms. Leach, Mr. Winter said you can lead the inquiry; there’s not rush, take your time!”
Cherise nodded politely, and soon it was just her and Addie in the room.
Addie, unbothered, thought that a young girl like Cherise wouldn’t be able to get much out of her.
“SIL” Cherise suddenly said.
For some reason, that simple command made Addie feel unsteady.
Sitting down with shaky legs, Addie demanded, “Get to the poin I just started my break and need to rest; don’t waste my
time.”
With a cold laugh, Cherise replied, “Unfortunately, Ms. Mellett, your upcoming winter break might be a lot longer than you.
think.”
Addie’s eyes widened in disbelief. “What do you mean by that?”
Looking directly into her eyes, Cherise said. “There are consequences for wrongdoing.”
With that, she turned the laptop screen toward Addie.
As the footage from the exam day played, panic began to show on Addie’s face.
The video was clear, showing every detail perfectly.
After all the examinees left the room, Addie was seen grabbing a blank paper while Yulia, who was busy signing documents, didn’t notice. Addie quickly noted the number from Calvin’s exam paper.
Then, she replaced Calvin’s paper with the blank one in just a few seconds.
The whole exchange was smooth, just like a seasoned criminal.
“Ms. Mellett, do you have anything to say?” Cherise asked after the video ended.
“You’re lying! That video was tampered with; you must have edited it!” Addie shouted back desperately.
In her mind, she couldn’t believe that the security at Betrico University, whom she had paid to help her, would provide such footage.
Cherise, seemingly unfazed, drummed her fingers on the table. We can bring in the authorities to verify this. I suggest you don’t resist too much; it might lead to more trouble for you.”
Hearing about the possibility of an official investigation made Addie pause, glancing nervously around the room.
In a quiet voice, she said, “Ms. Leach, you’re only twenty years old; I’ll be retiring in five years. I can’t wait for a long resolution. I didn’t think that by taking one paper, your scores would still be so high.
“Since you already have the top position, can’t we resolve this peacefully? Just name your price to reduce the scales of justice. We are all part of Clusia’s Traditional Medicine Association; there’s no need for hostility.”
