Cherise’s soft words made Morris drop the piece of beef he had just picked up onto the table. He quickly turned around.
There she was, the familiar figure obediently standing behind hith, dressed in the off–white cartoon pajamas he had changed her into last night. Her hair was a bit messy, her eyes still sleepy, and she was gently rubbing her eyes with her right hand.
Morris let out a big sigh of relief, his throat a little choked up. He quickly got up and walked over to Cherise.
He looked at her small face, reached out to ruffle her messy hair, then picked her up in his arms like a princess.
Suddenly lifted off the ground, Cherise opened her eyes wide in surprise. “What are you doing? Why did you pick me up so suddenly? I’ve been asleep for days, haven’t I? Where am I? I’m so hungry!”
Morris didn’t answer her questions and carried her to the couch “Why didn’t you wear slippers when you came down? It’s getting cold, and the floor can be really chilly. It’s my fault though, I wasn’t by your side.
“You woke up just after I stepped out. Hold on, I’ll get your slippers.”
Seeing Morris rushing around, Cherise couldn’t help but laugh and pulled him back, “Morris, how long did I sleep? That sleep was so good, but I made you worry. Did you wait long?” She gave Morris a knowing smile.
Morris couldn’t hold back any longer. He bent down and gently pulled her into his arms, careful not to hold too tightly, afraid she might close her eyes again after just waking up.
Cherise knew she had been unconscious for days, and Morris must have been extremely worried. She wrapped her arms around his strong waist and gently patted his back. They stayed in each other’s arms in silence for several minutes.
Until a sound broke the silence.
Morris let go of Cherise.
Cherise gave him an embarrassed smile, “Haha, I’m hungry, I want to eat something,” As she said that, she looked at the lavish dinner table with a longing gaze.
The atmosphere relaxed a bit. Morris eased his tense mood and laughed fondly.
A few minutes later, Cherise, wearing the pink plush slippers Morris gave her, sat by the dining table and started enjoying her first meal in days.
When Enya came out of the kitchen after cleaning up, she gasped, “Oh my goodness, Ms. Leach is awake! Thank goodness! You two eat up, eat up. I’ll tell the madam right away! This is wonderful, good things happen to good people!”
Mumbling to herself, Enya picked up her cloth bag and quickly left Chivers Residence.
In the spacious, elegant house, it was suddenly just the two of them,
Morris looked down at Cherise quietly eating her beef stew, all the recent worries vanished. All that remained was a face full of love and satisfaction.
“Why are you staring at me?” Cherise suddenly looked up, puzzled. Her cheeks were puffed out with food, like a cute little
hamster.
Morris chuckled softly, reaching out to wipe a bit of red sauce from the corner of her lips. “Because you’re beautiful!”
Cherise swallowed her food, half–believing. “Really? I just woke up and haven’t tidied up properly.”
Morris nodded. “Yeah, you look great. I can’t get enough!”

In the walk–in closet, it was filled with clothes in all the colors Cherise loved. The bedroom, study, art room, and so on were all carefully designed by Morris to match her tastes.
“I really like it here,” Cherise said after looking around, flashing a sweet smile at Morris.
Morris nodded, finally able to see Cherise’s dimpled smile directed at him again. This was a moment he had been longing for.
The next second, Cherise stopped, her mind wandering off as she was caught in deep thought.
Morris leaned casually against the arm of the sofa. “What’s wrong?”
Cherise tilted her head. “Aren’t there any housemaids here?”
Morris nodded. “No, I like it peaceful. The cleaning lady only needs to come once a day.”
Cherise pursed her lips for a moment. “So, who changed the clothes I’m wearing?”
Morris laughed, dropping his arms to his sides, and pointed at himself with a raised eyebrow, “Me, of course. It’s just me here. It’s not just the clothes you’re in now. Knowing you like to stay clean, I helped you change every day.
I even helped clean your body!”
Hearing this, Cherise’s face turned bright red. She didn’t say anything and quickly ran upstairs.
