Chapter 216
Marlon and Trent exchanged some pleasantries with Gavino and were about to head inside.
More guests were arriving at the gate.
When Gavino saw the new arrival, he said, “Oh Rayburn, you finally made it.”
“Gavino, happy birthday. Wishing you a long and happy life,” Rayburn exclaimed cheerfully as he entered, clearly delighted to see Gavino.
Everyone turned toward the gate when they heard the voice.
Rayburn and Jason walked in together.
Marlon and Trent immediately recognized the visitor as Rayburn, the current head of the distinguished Muller family.
In addition to leading the Muller family, Rayburn was skilled in medicine, astrology, and the study of ancient scripts, making him a true master of traditional arts.
However, over the years, the Muller family had been so low–profile that people mainly remembered their great wealth and profound background.
“Are you Rayburn, the head of the Muller family?” Trent couldn’t help but ask when he saw Rayburn.
Rayburn politely replied, “Yes, that’s me.”
“Hello, Mr. Muller. I didn’t expect to see the renowned head of the Muller family at Gavino’s birthday party,” Marlon agreed from the side.
Jason was introducing Rayburn to those around them since he usually kept to himself and had been away from Betrico for a while, making it hard to remember everyone’s names right away
After Jason finished, Rayburn quickly said, “Oh, it’s Mr. Taylor, the great master, and Mr. Taylor, the principal of Betrico University. It’s a pleasure to meet both of you.”
After exchanging some pleasantries, Gavino finally noticed the impressive–looking young man standing next to Rayburn. His eyes brightened with interest. “Oh, Rayburn, is this your grandson? He truly has the charm you had in your younger days.”
“That’s right. This is my grandson, Jason,” Rayburn replied.
Jason greeted Gavino, “Gavino, I’m Jason Muller. Wishing you a happy birthday.”
Gavino nodded with satisfaction. “Thanks. You’re such a charming young man.
“Where’s my great–granddaughter, you know, the one who was right next to me just a moment ago? Where did she go?
“Xenia? Where’s Xenia?”
Marlon pointed behind the pillar. “Xenia is over there, behind the pillar. What’s going on with her today? She’s usually so lively, but now she’s acting strange.”
Just then, Truman walked by. “Xenia, what are you doing here? I’m so busy, and you’re hiding out here.”
He pulled her out, and upon seeing the crowd in front of them, he said, “Wow, everyone’s here. Hello to all the esteemed elders. I’m Truman, Gavino’s direct grandson.”

Xenia still had her head down. When Gavino saw her come out le gently pulled her forward and said, “Rayburn and Jason, this is my great–granddaughter, also the beloved granddaughter of Marlon from the Taylor family.”
Then Gavino looked at Xenia, “Xenia, this is Jason, the guy I mentioned. He’s currently working in Betrico. You two should get to know each other, maybe become friends or something.”
Gavino was in the middle of his sentence when Xenia, catching sight of Jason, blushed a deep shade of pink. Without a word, she clapped her hand over her face and dashed away.
“Why did she run off like that? She’s so rude. Sorry about that, Rayburn and Jason,” Gavino said, feeling embarrassed.
Rayburn waved it off. “No worries. She’s so cute. She doesn’t seem as rowdy as you said. Quite well–behaved and all.”
Nearby, Truman sneered in his heart, ‘Well–behaved? It’s clear what’s happening. My grandpa can’t do anything with me and he’s trying to set Xenia up with a boyfriend. That’s great. No one will bother me from now on.
Jason watched Xenia running off into the distance, adjusted his gold–rimmed glasses on his nose, and flashed a charming smile.
Once far enough, Xenia leaned against a wall, her heart still racing. She lightly tapped her forehead. “Xenia, can’t you be a bit braver? It’s just a guy, though he’s the aloof type and your cup of tea!
“Why did you have to run so far away? We promised we’d never go on blind dates and wouldn’t accept setups.”
Xenia sighed after speaking and then sneaked a glance toward the courtyard, gently rubbing her slightly warm cheeks. “How can he be so dashing?
“Oh, my gosh. How can I be so superficial? How can I only judge a person by his look?”
At the entrance, the guests Gavino invited started to arrive gradually. Rita also came with Yulia.
