Arriving at Gourmet Galaxy, Cherise and her group were eager to experience the city’s top seafood spot, a hidden gem by Betrico’s northern edge known for its farm–to–table freshness that was the talk of the town.
They served the day’s catch, quick and fresh, and then closed shop after selling just 50 pounds. It was pricey, but the city’s elite and their affluent offspring kept returning for more.
As a result, they arrived to find a “Closed” sign on the door, disappointment clear on Truman and Xenia’s faces.
Morris exchanged a glance with Leo, who made a call.
Cherise observed, a flicker of recognition crossing her face as she remembered she’d heard Morris’s name somewhere
before.
Soon, a well–built man hurried out. “Mr. Chivers, it’s an honor! We’ve got the Pinnacle Room all set for you.” the Gourmet Galaxy owner said, his smile broad.
“Let’s head in, Ms. Leach Morris said leading the way.
“Looks like we’re in for a special night,” Truman and Xenia agreed, their spirits rising.
Cherise lingered behind, taking in Morris’s tall and commanding presence.
He
come to her defense on the plane, and now he had the restaurant owner completely under his spell, signaling to that Morris was no ordinary man
She knew she should keep her distance, but she had a weakness for handsome men, and Morris had charm to spare.
If Morris could glimpse into Cherise’s thoughts, he’d likely find them amusing and intriguing.
As they proceeded, Morris cased his stride to match Cherise’s.
Deep in her own thoughts, she didn’t see him and walked right into him, the aroma of classic cologne and a faint wisp of tobacco enveloping her. Her nose stung from the impact against his hard chest
“Are you okay?” Morris inquired, his voice a resonant murmur.
Cherise offered a slight frown before meeting Morris’s coolly attractive and refined features.
Morris gently grasped Cherise’s shoulders with a concerned expression. “Are you okay?”
“I’m okay,” she replied, a hint of red touching her cheeks as she retreated a step
Spotting her blush, Morris let out a gentle laugh. ‘She’s quite adorable when she’s flustered, he remarked inwardly
He gestured for Cherise to lead the way, and they continued to the private room where the others were already seated. Morris pulled out a chair for Cherise, then took the seat beside her once she sat down.
The Pinnacle Room epitomized luxury, typically frequented by the city’s most distinguished guests. It was a grand and well- lit space. While they settled in, the owner and staff attentively served the dishes.
Shimmering plates of seafood arrived at the table, making mouths water in eagerness. The owner had cooked each piece to perfection
Soon, he presented a spoonful of the cooked seafood to Morris, who then dipped it in satay sauce and served it on Cherise’s plate. “Make sure to enjoy it while it’s hot.”

The others and the owner looked on, taken aback by the gesture
Truman took a sip of water, deep in thought about the day’s events. Is Morris into Cherise? She’s a year younger than Xenia, so she’s 20, and he’s 28. Is this turning into one of those older men–younger woman setups? Pondering this, he took another sip.
Xenia hastily grabbed a shrimp to mask her awkwardness. She popped it into her mouth and immediately regretted it as the heat caught her off guard. She chewed gingerly, her eyes watering from the pain.
Leo decided to message the other assistants in their WhatsApp group later, speculating that Cherise could be the woman who’d caught Morris’s eye.
Morris’s appearance at Gourmet Galaxy with a lovely woman debunked the owner’s heard whispers that Morris stayed away from female companionship.
Cherise thanked Morris and tasted the shrimp. The flavors burst in her mouth, and her eyes lit up. Looking at Morris, she softly said, “Delicious, her face showing how much she enjoyed it
Morris grinned back at Cherise, pleased that she liked it. The meal wasn’t just about the food; it was about the company and the thoughts it sparked.
