Cherise nodded in reply.

“Well, sir, do you understand acupressure? Are you also a doctor? Cherise asked curiously.

After speaking, he sighed again.

“Now we’re friends.”
Cherise chuckled and said, “Okay, Rayburn. My name is Cherise Leach.”

Rayburn said, “Cherise, have the red pieces, so I’ll start first!”
Cherise nodded.
Rayburn’s slightly wrinkled hand picked up a chess piece and said, “I’ll make the first move.”
Cherise smiled silently and placed a pawn.
And so, the back–and–forth chess game began, with Rayburn’s eyebrows gradually knitting together.
After a round, Cherise was relaxed and at ease, while Rayburn clenched his left fist.

In the next moment, Cherise calmly declared, “Checkmate with the bishop and rook; the knight has crossed the river. Rayburn, if you’ll excuse me, I’m in a commanding position!”

Rayburn burst into laughter and said, “Well, I haven’t felt this pleased in a long time. Cherise, my friend, you’re truly a rare
talent!”
Cherise smiled and said, “Rayburn, your chess skills are amazing too! When two experts meet, it’s all about who makes the quick moves!”
Hearing this, Rayburn laughed heartily, believing Cherise was really something.
Cherise checked the time and said, “Rayburn, it was nice meeting you, but I have to go now. I have some things to take care of.”
She said this as she was to stand up.
Seeing this, Rayburn quickly spoke up with a regretful expression, “Wait a moment, Cherise! Next time you’re out for your morning exercise, could you come find me here again?”
Cherise looked at the friendly man she just met and explained with a friendly smile, “Rayburn, I’m not from around here. This is my first time visiting Hamolica, and I’m heading back to Betrico tonight.”
Hearing this, Rayburn felt a bit disappointed. The joy on his face from their chess game quickly faded.

Cherise nodded, picked up her phone, and said, “All set.”
Rayburn quickly accepted the friend request, smiling happily as if he had received a precious gift.
