Chapter 6
The slap rang out sharply, echoing through the living room.
Stunned, Tiffany covered her face. Her eyes narrowed with cold fury as she spat, “How dare you hit me! Cliff’s always treated me like I’m everything to him. He would never lay a finger on me. So who the hell do you think you are?”
She then raised her voice, calling for the bodyguards. “Hold her down!”
The bodyguards cast a hesitant glance at Lilibeth before shifting their gazes to Tiffany.
“You all work for my brother. Think about it. Who does he care about more?” Tiffany asked as
she shot them a sharp look.
The bodyguards fell silent for a moment. Then, they stepped forward to restrain Lilibeth.
Out of nowhere, Lilibeth burst into fits of laughter, laughing so hard that tears slipped down
her cheeks.
It turned out everyone knew just how much Tiffany meant to Clifford. She was the only one who had spent six years discovering this secret, even thinking it was something huge.
Before Lilibeth could react, Tiffany raised her hand and struck her across the face.
The first slap burned Lilibeth’s cheek. The second came fast, followed by the third.
Lilibeth struggled with all her might, yelling, “Tiffany Sinclair! Do you really think your brother won’t come after you for this?”
Her voice, hoarse and desperate, cut through the room.
“He’s always cleaned up the messes I’ve made. That includes slapping his wife,” Tiffany replied, a smug smile tugging at her lips. She leaned in and whispered into Lilibeth’s ear, Remember, I’m the only one he truly cares about.”
With that, she slapped Lilibeth again and again. Lilibeth fought back with everything she had. However, the bodyguards‘ grip was unyielding, holding her in place. The slaps kept coming, one after another.
At some point, Lilibeth’s vision grew hazy. Her cheek flared with pain, as if it had been branded. Even through the tears, she could still see the twisted pleasure on Tiffany’s face.
“How many was that?” Tiffany asked the bodyguards.
“99,” one of them answered.
“Well, let’s make it an even hundred,” she said with a smile.
The final slap landed with such force that Lilibeth coughed up blood. Darkness closed in

around her, and she passed out.
In the haze of unconsciousness, she heard the door swing open, followed by a sharp voice.
“What the hell are you doing?”
When Lilibeth woke up again, she found herself lying on her bed.
Clifford sat by her side and calmly said, “I know everything that happened today.”
“And?” She spoke through a dry throat, her voice rough.
“Tiff’s been spoiled her whole life,” Clifford replied lightly. “I’ve already punished her. Please don’t take it to heart.”
Lilibeth fixed her gaze on him. “How did you punish her?”
After a brief pause, Clifford pulled a lock of hair from his pocket. “She cut your hair, so this is her apology.”
“And what about the hundred slaps I took? You can’t be telling me that you slapped her once, and that’s supposed to be enough?”
Lilibeth found it completely ridiculous.
“She slapped you so many times that her hand is swollen. That’s punishment enough,” Clifford responded, his tone still as calm as before.
Lilibeth froze upon hearing that. Soon, she let out a bitter laugh, tears streaming down her
face.
“How did I ever fall for you, Clifford?” she muttered.
Just as Clifford was about to speak, she grabbed a vase from the bedside table and threw it to the ground with all her might..
“Get out!” Lilibeth roared, her eyes burning with fury.
Clifford rose to his feet. Even now, his voice remained steady as he spoke. “I know you’re angry, but the doctor said you need to rest. Calm down.”
With that, he turned and walked out of the room,
As soon as the door closed, Lilibeth couldn’t hold back anymore. She immediately collapsed, sobbing uncontrollably.
