“You did it and claimed you don’t know? Everyone in the office knows what you do for a living,” Lucy declared, and Anya raised a brow. What she did for a living? She did not do anything. If she had an occupation, it was housewife or pampered wife. 

But Anya was very curious about this matter and wanted to see where this was going.

“What did I do? You are not going to convict me without telling me, right? Even the police have to tell you the crimes they are arresting you for. Stop being vague and hurriedly tell me, I am dying of curiosity,” Anya responded, causing the office that was watching a show to calm. If they mentioned this far and she did not react, doesn’t that mean that nothing that was said 

on the forum was true? 

“People say you are sleeping with the boss,” Lucy declared. 

“So?” She asked, and the office went still. 

“You are not even denying it!” Lucy screamed. 

“Why do I need to deny sleeping with my legally married husband?” Anya asked, and the office went stiff. Lucy’s eyes turned into large balls. Husband? She was the boss’s wife? 

Usually one would doubt this claim from no where, but they did not dare. Anya did not even flinch when she said this, and to say this in the office means the boss will hear of it. How could 

she dare joke about this? 

And if the boss will hear what she said today, doesn’t that mean the boss will hear what they said too? Many broke out in scold sweat and swore to wife their comments on the forum the 

moment Anya leaves. 

All of them immediately stood up, not daring to sit any longer.

“You say this is circulating on the forum? What is the head of human resources doing?” Anya asked and stormed towards the elevator. 

Anya soon walked out of the elevator on the floor of the human resources floor. When she walked in, very few recognized her from the pictures on the forum as she made her way to the office of the head of department. She knocked and was let in. When she arrived, the head of department happened to be one of the few people who recognized her. 

“You are?” he still asked, despite guessing why she was there. 

“Someone had released rumors about me on the forum. Take it down,” she said, and the head of human resources raised a brow at her request. 

“It is not as though this can’t be done, but the order has to come much higher,” the middle- aged man said. Anya was not sure if this was a lie. But she was getting irritated by the man before her. 

“I am the person posted on the forum, and I am asking for it to be taken down. If human resources cannot do this, I will have you fired.” Anya said. 

Anya was confident. She may not understand how company policy worked with situations like this, but she knew that this was her husband’s company. She could definitely fire a staff! 

At her words, the man sat up straighter and looed at her incredulously. 

“You know you work here, right?” he asked. 

“Of course,” she answered. 

“How can a small assistant, even if assisting the boss, be still an assistant?” Are you not

worried about your future?” he asked in amusement. He did not in any way believe that she would make such a career–killing move. 

“So, you know who I am. I don’t recall informing you that I am the assistant to your boss. That means you saw the rumors are trying to humiliate me. Is this what you say to other staff in my position? You are not afraid of getting fired?” She asked, and he paused and reached for what seemed to be a cup of coffee on his desk and took a sip. 

“What about you? Do you know you are speaking to the head of human resources? You will not kill your career for such a thing, right?” he asked, ignoring her question. 

“Why don’t you just lay low for a while? After the novelty is gone, people will naturally move on to other things,” he said. He was not someone to interfere too much with the forum. It was one of the most interesting parts of the company. He quite enjoyed beating down shameless people like prostitutes. 

“Is this company policy?” Anya asked. 

“Yes, it is the way we do things and have been doing things for a while now,” he answered, taking another sip of his coffee. 

“I see…” she said and stalked out of his office in anger. Anya did not think she needed Daniel for this. He had already introduced her to the security staff. 

“Then, I will ask your boss about company policy,” she said and turned away. 

The head of human resources could not believe that she would actually call the boss until security walked in. 

No, as the assistant to the boss, she can bring security. There was no way it was the boss that ordered it. They did not believe it; the head of human resources didn’t.

When the security walked into the department after her, he walked out of his office and gave her an incredulous look. 

“You actually called security for your personal matter?” He asked, “The company is not your family property; use it as you like.” 

“Not only that, I want to know exactly who released the information, so that I can fire them,” she said, stepping out of the way for the two security guards to do their work. 

“Fire them? You have no right to fire anyone!” Dan shouted at Anya, but she did not care. 

“Find out who posted it, their name, and when you are done, throw this man out,” Anya 

ordered. She was not sure what had come over her. 

She did not care if he believed her. When he was dragged out kicking and screaming, rumors 

will end. 

She recalled that this was also Daniel’s fault for insisting on doing that in the office and 

creating rumors. 

She had just been severely irritated these past few days. When she thought of Daniel, her irritation grew. 

The entire department was alerted that there were security guards the moment they walked in. Now, seeing that someone, a staff member, actually called them, they could not believe it. Not only did she call them, she went called them to fire the head of human resources. Was she crazy? 

They had never seen someone do something so stupid. Was this not a personal matter? Someone could use the security as her personal goons? They could not believe it, but the head of human resources could not believe it even more. He looked at Anya as though he had just seen someone with two heads.

“We need access to your company’s forum,” the guard repeated. “This sir, who are you?” he asked the head of human resources before him. 

“Dan William, the head of human resources,” Dan answered, “you do not work for her. How can you be called for personal matters?” He tried to do some damage control. 

“Why not? It seems you have been using your position to force people to beg you when their news ends up on the forum. Since you don’t like your job, you can pack your things and leave,” Anya said. 

“Did sleeping with the boss make you think you own the company? Who are you to fire me?” 

“Mrs. Shaw,” Anya answered. 

The next moment, her phone rang. It was Daniel. The moment she picked up the call, Mr. William seemed to have lost his mind. He saw some of the looks his subordinates were giving him, and he knew that they were gloating at his situation. If she kept escalating the matter, isn’t if possible for him to get fired? He wondered. His anger built till he picked a ceramic vase and smashed at Anya.
