Chapter 54
Roxanne, who was furious, grabbed a cushion from the couch and hurled it at Sebastian, her eyes blazing with rage. “This is all your fault! If you didn’t believe me, why did you say you did?”
If Sebastian had just told her he didn’t believe her when it all happened, she could have still found evidence. But now, three years had passed. Any surveillance footage was long gone.
Sebastian stood up calmly, his cold, handsome face tinged with laziness, “So, you have no proof.”
Roxanne absolutely hated that indifferent attitude ofhis.
Back then, Sebastian had thought–so what if Rosarme drugged him? They were boyfriend and girlfriend. Sleeping together was normal. And he was a man needs. What did it matter when it happened?
Whether exame drugged him or not made no difference to him. It hadn’t caused any damage or lasting effects, so he didn’t care.
But it mattered to Roxanne. Hername and her dignity had been dragged through the mud.
She had been naive, thinking it was enough that Sebastian believed her. What others thought didn’t matter.

But the reality of things–the rumors, the insults, the slander she had endured over the years–had only grown worse because of that incident. And the worst part was, Sebastian had never truly believed her to begin with

Hei eyes reddened with anger. Her hand clenched into tists so tightly that her nails dug into her palms. She stared at him with eyes filled with hatred, feeling as she could drill holes through him just by looking. If she could, she would trar into his flesh and rip it apart just to ease the fury in her heart. Sebastian saw the crimson fury in her eyes and the borderline manic expression on her face. That was when he realized he had gone too far.
He softened his tone, “Alright. No matter what the truth is, I don’t care. You shouldn’t either. If it’s just about what others think, I’ll help you clear your name. Roxanne’s eyes were instantly filled with tears. She bit her lower lip hard, refusing to let them fall. A wave of helplessness and despair swept over her. Sebastian was always like this–never fully warm, never fully cold, never truly clear. He thought that by softening his tone, he was coaxing her–that he was yielding. He thought that she should take the cue and backdown.
She used to give into that, but not anymore.
She took a step back. Her eyes–once so bright and beautiful–were now filled with disappointment and bitterness. “Sebastian, I can prove my innocence.” She turned and wailed straight out to the lawn in the yard, looking up at the starry sky. “I didn’t drug you back then. If I did, may the-” Sebastian’s expression shattered in a panie. In a flash, he lunged forward and clamped his hand over her mouth. “Are you insane?” Rone’s curse–bearing ability had returned. He knew exactly how powerful berxes were.
In Boxanne’s opinion, she was fine with asking to be struck down by lightning. She didn’t care! She wasn’t afraid of being blasted to death. Roxanne’s eyes, deep and still like a bottomless abyss, stared at him. The very last shred of love in her gaze completely vanished. Even now, even after all this, Sebastian still didn’t believe her. He thought she would be struck down by lightning-
At that moment, Roxane finally realized just how pathetic her past seven years had been,
Sebastian felt like a sharp pain was piercing through his chest as it thousands of needles were stabbing him when he saw that sadness in her eyes.
Roxanne pushed him away quietly, subtly creating distance between them. The way she looked at him now was like looking at a stranger.
She had figured it out. Why should she even bother delending herselt? Why argue with a soon–to–be ex–boyfriend about any of this? The plane she was gripping tightly in her hand suddenly chimed
