Driving back home we both were silent on the way, it felt like there was much to be shared since we have accomplished a little victory, but that part of us hasn’t yet come out.
Saying that I needed to go back to the company was a huge step, it changed so many things, which was why I knew that was what needed to he said.
“I am curious, what exactly did Eric say to you when he called you over Birdie asked as the silence had stretched.
“Hmm, what do you think of drinking in the Terence while pondering exactly this question?” I cast a look her way and the smiled as she nodded slowly.
“A drink in the Terence sounds perfect” She glimmered.
That was how I turned the sound of the music up, and we were vibrating to the rhytan as we drove straight to the house.
The drinks are ready, just what she wanted and what I wanted too,
I was sitting down on the long side of the sofa in the Terence when she came inside the place.
She has changed from her long black that made a statement, to a comfortable T–shirt with a shirt under it
She felt chilly as she ran her hand through her arms before crossing and walking to the sofa I was seating
“I can see the drinks are ready. I want to change up, I can’t be seen looking serious” She pointed behind her, like she was referring to that dress she had removed.
1 let out small laughter, unbuttoning my shirt, leaving a button or two unlocked, it felt comfy
“What was that dress! And the eye makeup?” I asked that question for the first time, and then I’m laughing at the whole scenario that had played
“What is funny?” She lights up, moving closer as she pushes my shoulder while still laughing at herself
*I mean, they were going to take you seriously enough, and you didli’t have to do much, no one would have known you talked for more than 5 minutes. I said while trying not to laugh again.
The few times that I had been to the dinner while she was still married to Eric, I noticed how Stoic and emotional she always was
There were times I wouldn’t see her until we were done eating, and then she came in super exhausted and I just couldn’t stop the pity from me to
her.

“I wish I did more than I did today, there were times I wanted to bang her head against a wall, I wanted to ask her to shove her ass down the corridor, gosh how much I hated her.” She said, sipping her drink.
“But you stayed.” I said softly.
The little laugh from her, it showed more words than she could say.
“Because I thought the man I stayed for was worth it all, but eventually he wasn’t, which of course is a pity.”
Knowing Kyler and the way he made sure that my whole childhood, teenage hood and young adulthood was messed up, I was expecting the same thing
You grew up with her. Birdie suddenly said, as she dropped her drink, her eyes were on me.
She touched her chin, her eyes roaming on me as she waited, waiting for me to say a word, but I’m slipping down the drink, wanting to run away from the shadows that haunted me for so long-

There were moments that I wanted to disappear, moments I wanted to be gone forever so she doesn’t have to be reminded through me that her husband left her for a night and shared it with a woman who had no future

“Who cares about your stupid damn ex–wife, he can have her. But you see this? I will make sure he doesn’t even come close to this place.”
She held my hand together, assuring me with more than words that she will keep to her promise..
“I will make sure, and that is a promise to you. Now all you have to do is take care of this place, and leave the rest to me.” She said.

She held my hand together, assuring me before she walked out of the office.
As her retreating vanished, I knew she meant it when she said she will make sure this place is mine forever.
I wish she can also make her come back to me, I don’t need her fucking close to him, but now they are married.
am determined, I will take her back because I do not want him to know her just like I did.
