Chapter 27 Did You Make This Soup?
Sofia returned to the Hart family home, but instead of heading straight to her room, she went to the kitchen.
Housekeeper Gregory was busy directing the chefs to prepare dinner.
Seeing her come in, he was a bit startled and then asked, “Madam, is there something special you’d like to eat?”
“No, Gregory. I want to personally cook soup for Mr. Hart,” Sofia replied..
Gregory was again surprised but quickly smiled and made space for Sofia, saying, “Madam, please make the soup here. Master and Mr. Hart will surely be very happy to know about it.”
Sofia smiled and began washing her hands without saying more.
Her cooking skills were actually qu Chapter unlocked!
As a child, she learned many medicinal recipes from her mentor in the mountains.
However, since returning to the Schneider family, she hadn’t stepped into the kitchen again.
Even when she missed meals, she didn’t make something for herself but instead ate some bread or cookies to stave off hunger.
Sofia didn’t want the Schneider family to know much about her, nor did she want to give them any reason to mock her.
So, even though it sometimes made her seem like she was enduring a lot of hardship, she never said much.
The reason she was making soup for Nathaniel today was actually for his treatment.
Nathaniel had discovered her actions, making her more cautious.
So today, Sofia planned to add something to the soup to ensure Nathaniel slept soundly and wouldn’t wake up no matter what happened.

However, she couldn’t let anyone know about the ingredients she was using, so she had to play the role of a dutiful wife herself.
Sofia efficiently cleaned the black chicken and put it into the pot to make soup.
Gregory and the Hart family chefs were astonished by her skilled movements.
One of the chefs even repeatedly exclaimed that Sofia’s cooking skills were really excellent.
Sofia graciously accepted their compliments and took the opportunity to say to Gregory, “Gregory, if I come home early from work, I will personally cook for Mr. Hart. Please keep this stove available for me.”
The treatment would take quite a while.
Although Sofia didn’t want to make things so complicated, Nathaniel was too annoying, forcing her to engage in this battle of wits and courage.
Gregory was naturally pleased to hear this.
To him, it was a sign of Sofia and Nathaniel’s good relationship.
He said, “Don’t worry, Madam. I’ll arrange everything. If you need any ingredients, you can tell me in advance, and I’ll have someone prepare them for you.”
Gregory had been startled to see Sofia carrying a large bag of groceries.
That was unheard of in the Hart family, where none of the ladies ever went to the supermarket or market themselves.
Sofia thanked Gregory and said, “There’s no need to trouble you, Gregory. I prefer to buy them myself.”
She had some ingredients that she couldn’t let others see.
If Gregory prepared everything for her, her actions would be exposed.
Gregory didn’t insist and thought even more highly of Nathaniel’s wife.
At least she was very sincere towards Mr. Hart.
Sofia started making the soup around three in the afternoon and didn’t finish until almost
six.

Even the head chef, who had been poached from a seven–star hotel, couldn’t concentrate on his own cooking and kept coming over to sniff the soup, wondering what secret recipe Sofia had used to make it smell so good.
Sofia, helpless about the chef’s actions, smiled and said, “Wait until it’s done, and you can try some.”
“That would be great. I can’t resist this smell,” the chef said.
Sofia kept an eye on the pot, calculating the time.
Finally, when the medicinal ingredients reached their peak effectiveness, she turned off the heat.
She poured the soup into a small pot to take to Nathaniel, leaving the rest for everyone to
share.
Old Mr. Hart had already been drawn by the aroma and was staring at the pot, afraid Sofia might leave him out.
Sofia, unable to resist, filled the small pot and prepared a tray with other food for Nathaniel, then said to Old Mr. Hart, “Grandpa, you eat first. I need to take care of Mr. Hart. You don’t have to wait for me.”
She knew Old Mr. Hart would wait for her no matter how late she returned, and she felt sorry for him.
Old Mr. Hart did want to wait, but before he could say anything, Sofia continued, “Grandpa, you need to drink the soup while it’s hot. If you wait, it won’t taste as good even if you reheat it.”
Hearing this, Old Mr. Hart didn’t insist.
He said, “Go check on Nathaniel, and I’ll drink the soup.”
Sofia smiled and took the tray to Nathaniel’s room.
Nathaniel’s bed was already raised, and he was leaning against the headboard, lost in thought.

Usually, Old Mr. Hart brought his dinner, and only then would he eat a few bites to make the old man happy.
Not seeing Old Mr. Hart today, Nathaniel’s first thought was that something might have happened to him.
He asked in a serious tone, “Where’s Grandpa?”
“He’s eating,” Sofia replied, as if it was the most obvious thing, giving Nathaniel a look that clearly said, “What else would he be doing at this time?”
Nathaniel found it even stranger.
Since his accident, Old Mr. Hart wouldn’t eat until he saw Nathaniel eat.
Otherwise, the old man would also lose his appetite.
Although Nathaniel was glad Old Mr. Hart wasn’t affected today, he still felt something was odd.
This odd feeling naturally came from his wife.
He asked, “What did you do to Grandpa?”
Sofia gave him a strange look and said, “What could I possibly do to Grandpa?”
She was starting to wonder if this man had a persecution complex.
Nathaniel said, “You must have said something to him.”
Sofia thought for a moment and said, “I just told him the soup wouldn’t taste good if it got cold, so he went to drink it.”
Sofla even looked at Nathaniel provocatively, almost saying, “You, his grandson, are not as, important as a bowl of soup.”
Nathaniel was almost amused by Sofia’s look.
He smiled and said, “You do have some skill.”

Being able to make Grandpa trust her and not worry about him, Nathaniel had to give Sofia some credit.
Sofia giggled and said, “Thank you, Mr. Hart, for the compliment.”
She pulled the table over, placed the tray on it, and first opened the small pot.
“Try it. Grandpa is drinking this soup too. It’s really good,” Sofia said.
She scooped a spoonful of soup and held it to Nathaniel’s lips, looking a bit smug.
Nathaniel
gave her a deep look before opening his mouth to drink the soup..
Just as Sofia said, it was indeed very delicious.
Unlike any soup he had ever tasted, it had a unique aroma.
Instead of being strange, it made his whole body feel comfortable.
Nathaniel even felt a warm flow through his body.
He was sure his family’s chef couldn’t make soup like this.
Nathaniel stared at Sofia and asked, “Did you make this soup?”
