They said they could investigate but needed more money.

When Kyler reported this back to Nathaniel, he couldn’t help but complain, “I knew the Nightfall Order folks were greedy, but I didn’t expect them to be this shameless.”
Nathaniel felt something was off.
Nightfall Order raising prices wasn’t surprising, but the way they said it made it seem like they knew something but were keeping it from him on purpose.

Kyler’s heart skipped a beat. He sensed a hint of menace in Mr. Hart’s tone.
It was like if he didn’t follow orders, there would be trouble.

But in less than ten minutes, Kyler came back with even more ridiculous news.
“Mr. Hart, Nightfall Order says you’re not sincere,” Kyler said, trying to stay calm.
Contrary to expectations, Mr. Hart didn’t get angry. Instead, he seemed amused.
Nathaniel smirked and said, “3.6 billion.”
This time, Kyler was even more unsettled.
Even if Mr. Hart was rich, he couldn’t just throw money away like that.
