Chapter 86
“I’m doing well in the company. I’ve just retinned and need to leam more about it. Please bring me some food,” Scarlett requested.
Noticing Scarlett was already in the zone, Grace remained silent.
Cedric was unaware that Scarlett had been discharged from the hospital. At the moment, he was feeling anxious in the villa.
“Don’t worry. They’re just a group of old men. How powerful can they really be? Didn’t you say they wouldn’t dare to do anything to you?” valda was casually snacking on the side, completely indifferent to the situation.
cenc felt helpless. “What worries me most is that they won’t take action. That’s the real fear. These old men are great at manipulating people’s emotions.”
He felt uneasy, sensing that something was about to happen. “I can’t wait anymore. I need to talk to Lettie.”
After that, he promptly reached out to Scarlett. However, she was preoccupied with work and didn’t answer the call. Cedric was taken aback and pondered whether she had dozed off.
Noticing the lookon Cedric’s face, Valda asked, “What’s going on? Did Scarlett not pickup the phone?”
Valda was about to complain when Cedric called Grace, who was downstairs at the company. Grace was momentarily stunned by the incoming call.
Ms. Farmer, has the board made a decision? Why Is Lettie not picking up my call?” Cedric asked nervously.
Grace smiled faintly. “Why the rush? This issue isn’t resolved yet, and it’s late. Lettie needs to rest.”
She sighed and added, “Anyway, please come early tomorrow. I have to guide you on what to focus on.” After that, she hung up the phone.
Cedric felt more relieved. “Mom, I’ll go to th
the company tomorrow to sort this out
Valda nodded in response. “It’s great that it can be solved, but you must hurry. Your aunt urged ine about it last night.”
Cedric simply nodded in agreement.
Grace entered Scarlett’s office and asked, “Haven’t you read these documents before? There’s nothing wrong with them.”
Scarlett rubbed her brows and glanced at her phone. “The more normal it seems, the more worried I am. By the way, did Cedric call you?”
Grace stepped forward and replied, “He called to ask why he couldn’t reach you. It’s nothing serious. Anyway, I grabbed some of your favorite food for you. Give it a
try.
Grace smiled, yet a spark of contemplation flickered in her eyes.
The following moming, Cedric arrived early to find Grace waiting outside. His anxiety was palpable as he focused solely on the matter. “Ms. Fanner, what’s happening with the board? Is there anything I can do to help ?”
However, Grace remained composed, “First, calm down. The board hasn’t decided yet, but it’s clear that you’re their target this time.” Cedric felt panicked. “What should I do then?”
