Chapter 6
Chapter 6
The girl still had a smile on her face.
She grabbed Ricky Grayton’s hand, pulling him along as she said she wanted to take the dog for a walk downstairs.
Ricky, Biscuit is so adorable. Look at her…”

Her words trailed off when she noticed Ricky’s frozen expression.
Following his gaze, she turned to look in my direction.
This was my first time seeing Sharna Allison.
She was sweet and beautiful, with a pair of clear, water–like eyes that seemed to wash away all the world’s impurities.
Her eyelashes quivered lightly, like dewdrops shimmering in the morning light.
Beneath her delicate nose was a pair of lips curved in an innocent, lively smile–pure and
radiant.
In that instant, as our eyes met, I understood.
I understood why she was Ricky’s treasure.
She looked almost identical to Ricky’s first love.
They were college classmates, a legendary couple known throughout campus.
She was gentle and attentive, treating Ricky with utmost care and tenderness.
Their love story had once been the talk of the school.
But she eventually cheated on him, married another, man, and had a child.
Despite this, Ricky had clung to the hope that she might one day divorce and return to him.

Perhaps this was why he had never gone through with marrying me or registering our
marriage.
I had thought he’d long since moved on after so many years, but now…
Sharna gave me a puzzled glance, her luminous eyes flickering as she tugged on Ricky’s
sleeve.
“Ricky, who is she?”
She called him Ricky, her tone and gestures filled with intimacy.
The housekeeper looked at me, confused.
Ricky’s gaze finally landed on me, devoid of any emotion.
“She’s my
“Fiancée?”
fiancée.”
Sharna’s expression shifted. She gave me a long, deliberate look, her lips curving into a faint smile as a glimmer of triumph flickered in her eyes.
She already knew who I was.
She just wanted to humiliate me.
Ricky quickly shielded her behind him, as if afraid I might lash out at her.
“How did
you
find this place?” he asked.
I hadn’t planned on doing anything to her.
“I need to talk to you,” I said.
Ricky said it was cold outside and, not wanting Sharna to catch a chill, told me to come
inside.
But there was no need for such a fuss.

I only had one thing to say, and once it was said, I’d leave.
Yet his concern for Sharna was so evident that, before I could even open my mouth, he had already scooped her up into his arms and carried her inside.
