Chapter 5
An inexplicable unease tugged at Bernard. Shoving Kate aside, he hurried back to the
villa.
But when he arrived, all he found was an empty, silent house.
His heart sank as he frantically searched every room, every corner, growing more frantic with each passing second.
All traces of our time together were gone- every photo, every memento wiped clean.
In the most prominent spot, there remained only a box labeled. “Open in half a month.”
With trembling hands, he opened the box. Inside was the divorce agreement I had left. behind, already signed.
Bernard felt as if he had been plunged into a frozen wasteland, the cold penetrating to his very bones.

Desperately, he rushed out of the house, hoping to find some trace of me. But even the flowers I had lovingly planted in the yard had been uprooted and were gone.
“No, it’s impossible! Impossible! Jane would never leave me!”
Then, he suddenly remembered what I had said the day I accepted his proposal. “If you ever betray me, I will disappear from your world forever.”
Recalling my unusual behavior over the past few days, his despair overwhelmed. him and he collapsed to the ground.
Just then, out of the corner of his eye, he spotted a SIM card lying on the ground. Frantically, he picked it up and inserted it into his phone.
To his shock, the card was filled with countless explicit photos Kate had sent to
- me.
At that moment, Bernard finally realized the truth. He and Kate had done so many

disgusting things and I had known all along.
Suddenly, Kate’s taunting messages popped up, accompanied by several compromising photos of the two of them.
“Jane, Bernard only has me in his heart. If you don’t want this to get uglier, step aside while you still can!”
Rage surged through Bernard like a
wildfire. He stormed off like a madman to find Kate.
Before she could even react, a resounding slap sent her sprawling to the ground.
“Why are you hitting me?” she cried in
shock.
Kate’s pitiful expression only made Bernard’s eyes burn even redder.
At last, he truly understood how much pain. I must have felt when I saw those photos.
His gaze filled with nothing but

“You wretched woman! How many times. have I told you not to go near my wife? If it weren’t for you, Jane would never have left me!”
A flicker of triumph flashed in Kate’s eyes. She hadn’t expected Jane to actually leave.
Clutching her abdomen, she crawled over on his knees and grabbed the hem of his pants. “Bernard, I’m carrying your child. From now on, the three of us will be a family!”
Bernard’s eyes turned icy, his expression. chilling to the bone.
“Family? You think you‘ re worthy? I’ll give you three days. Get rid of the baby!”
Bernard loathed himself. If he had just controlled his impulses, how could things have come to this?
With a ruthless kick, he sent Kate
sprawling across the floor before turning and walking away.
