Chapter 89
Samantha had thought she was professional in her approach, but she hadn’t expected to be shut down so decisively.
An appointment wasn’t even an option
Her head ached. She had no other way of reaching Leonardo except through persistence, so she continued pleading with the receptionist.
is there any chance you could at least notify Mr. Garrett and see if he would be willing to meet me?–
The receptionist maintained her polite smile, “There is no such chance.”
Samantha was speechless.
Then, she sent Leonardo a few more messages.
“I made you a delicious lunchbox Want to have lunch together?
“At least tell me how am I supposed to find you?”
–
“Your company is really strict. I can’t even get in.”
But just like before, her messages disappeared into the void without reply.
She tried a different approach, holding up her phone to the receptionist. “Look, I do know Mr. Garrett, Here, see? This is his WhatsApp. We’re contacts. Can’t you just len know I’m here?”
The receptionist glanced at her screen before pointing out an issue. “I’m sorry, but I don’t have
Lave Mr. Garrett’s
contact information, so I can’t verify if this is really
want to see you. That gives us
Before Samantha could argue further, the receptionist added, “Besides, he clearly isn’t responding to you. That means he doesn’t want to even less reason to let you in”
Her logic left Samantha speechless.
Just as she had expected–If Leonardo didn’t want to see her, nothing she did would change that…
The receptionist retumed to her work, no longer paying Samantha any attention
Feeling dejected, Samantha glanced down at the lunchbox in her hands. It felt out of place here- among people dressed in designer suits, carrying luxury handbags, and wearing expensive watches. Everyone in the lobby exuded confidence, chatting as they came and went.
Maybe she didn’t belong here.
The receptionist suddenly looked up “I did reach out to Mr. Moore. May I have your name?
A spark of hope reignited in Samantha’s eyes.
There were stili kind–hearted people in this world.
‘My name is Samantha Newton.”
The receptionist relayed the message: “Mi Samantha Newton is here to see Mr. Garrett.”
There was silence on the other end of the call.
Simon scratched his head. Why did this kind of thing always fall on him?
It was obvious that Leonardo cared about Samantha. He was just being petty and throwing a fit. Wheh he said he didn’t want to see her, what he meant was the opposite he wanted to see her very badly.
Leonardo’s anger would only worsen if Simon didn’t let her in However, if he did help her and she failed to coax Leonardo properly, he would suffer the consequences too.
This was not a win–win situation.
Not bearing a response from Simon, the receptionist assumed she had her and
answer. “Understood. I’ll have her leave Iminediately.”
Simmon panicked. “Wait! Not Don’t! Get her some retteshments and make sure she’s comfortable.”
The receptionist shot Samantha a surprised glance before replying professionally, “Understood.”
After ending The call, be tuned to Fran, who had been waiting for his input. “Apologies. I need to handle something. Once I do, your proposal migla have a better chance of getting approved.”
Fran’s eyes lit up “Seriously
The public relations department had already rested their pre–launch campaign at least 20 times. At this point, the entire department was like a horde of wandering spirits drowning in despair. As their leader, she had been at his wit’s end.
“Bat it depends on luck,” Simon added,
And If our luck isn’t good?”
He smiled faintly–an expression of sheer resignation.
