That night, she settled onto the couch with a small bladet, prepared to stay with Ryan until moming. The doctor had mentioned that there wouldn’t be any complications as long as he showed no adverse reactions by 10:00 am

As the hours passed, exhaustion crept in, and she began to yawn
Ryan, on the other hand, seemed full of energy. He talked endlessly, going on and on, even though Samantha only responded with the occasional half–hearted reply.

She wished the doctor would just give him a sedative so he would shut up for awhile.
Rubbing her sore ears, the protested again. “Mr. Shaw, if you don’t stop, I’m really going to fall asleep.”
“If you’re sleepy, go sleep.”
Samantha forced herself to stay awake, determined to see this through.
Finally, after 4:00 am, Ryan finally dozed off.
She drifted it, and out of light sleep, barely hanging o

By then, he was still sleeping like a log, even snoring a little.

Samantha finally let out a breath of relief, feeling like she was just moments away from passing out.
