Chapter 98
Over half an hour later, Evelyn was nervously pacing outside the emergency room when the lights inside went off. She hurried over just as a nurse came out, wheeling Jasmine out quietly on a stretcher.
Evelyn carefully followed them into the ward.
“Doctor, is my mom all right?” said Evelyn.
After doing a series of final checks, the doctor signaled her to go out of the room. “Are you a family member of the patient? She fainted due to excessive fright, but she will wake up soon. Please be careful during this period as the patient may be unstable in mood. If she wakes up, please remember to call us for assistance.”
Evelyn breathed a sigh of relief and nodded.
She thought, ‘Excessive fright?
In broad daylight, what could’ve spooked her? Fortunately nothing serious Evelyn’s heart settled, and with Zoey’s support, she stepped into the ward.
Zoey said, “Evelyn, have you informed Caleb?”
It was not until then that Evelyn remembered that she was so nervous that she forgot to inform him. She immediately took out her phone and walked to the corridor.
“Caleb, Jasmine fainted. We are in the hospital now. Hurry up.”

405 ward.”
Without further ado, Evelyn immediately told him the ward number and then hung up the phone, and went back to the ward.
“Evelyn,” said Zoey.
Evelyn nodded and sat down on the edge of the bed. Looking at Jasmine’s pale face, she thought, How could she suddenly pass out?
While she was thinking, Jasmine suddenly moved her hand and frowned. Evelyn immediately approached her. “How are you, Jasmine?”
Jasmine slowly opened her eyes which were full of fear and unconsciously looked in a certain direction, and murmured, “Don’t kill him! Don’t kill him!”
Raising her hand and waving it in the air, she seemed to stop others from doing something.
Evelyn held her hand immediately. “Mom? It’s okay Nothing”
However, Jasmine didn’t seem to hear it. Her voice was full of fear. She shook off Evelyn’s hand, and Evelyn fell back Suddenly her back was supported.
Evelyn avoided falling on the ground. She turned around and saw Caleb.
“Thank you.”
