Upon clicking on the picture, Caleb could see that the photographer was probably quite far away, managing only to capture a blurred shot of three women confronting each other.
Caleb passed the phone to Jasmine. He was about to take out his own phone when Jasmine immediately glared at him “What are you trying to do? Help her remove the trending topic. What’s wrong with the trending topic? I think it’s time to teach Ava a lesson!”
“Mom, Avy is not that kind of person. What happened between Evelyn and me has nothing to do with Avy at all,” Caleb frowned and said helplessly,
At first, when Caleb and Ava were together, his parents disagreed and he could not take her to meet his family. He always felt that he owed Ava an apology
Ava left Glovia five years ago without saying goodbye. Due to his situation with Evelyn, he could only let go reluctantly. During that time, Ava would only occasionally give him a call, never meeting face to face even once. Thinking of this, Caleb got up to walk to the balcony, dialing a phone number.
“Immediately have someone contact Entertainment Fish and remove the trending topic right away.”
Caleb hung up the phone, and when he turned around, he saw Jasmine looking at him with a stern face. He awkwardly swiped at his phone screen, only to find more than a dozen missed calls from Ava, all after the trending topic was posed that morning.
Caleb thought for a moment before calling back. In just a few seconds, the call was quickly answered. As soon as the call connected, a burst of crying came through the phone. Annoyed, Caleb pinched his temple. He waited for several minutes before the crying on the other end subsided.
Ava said in a thick nasal voice, carrying a tone of grievance, “Caleb! Boohoo… I’m so scared. I’m home alone, and there are so many reporters outside. Can you come over and keep me company?”
Caleb silently listened to Ava’s crying complaints, and upon hearing this, he could only try to soften his voice as much as possible. “If I headed over now, wouldn’t that just confirm the trending topic? Avy, just stay in the house. I’ll have Colin handle it.”
“Caleb! You come here and take me out, okay? I don’t want to be a star anymore. If you take me out, everyone will know that we are together openly and honestly…
The voice from the other side carried urgency, but Caleb looked dazedly in the direction of the stairs. Hives darkened, carrying an unreadible look.
The call was unwittingly hung up by Caleb. He sighed and made another call to Colin to handle the situation, only to realize that Jasmine was no longer in the living room.
Caleb stood at the stairway entrance, hesitated for a while, and was just about to step upstairs. A burst of doorbell rang from the entrance. The servant looked at Caleb. After receiving a nod of approval, she went to open the door. A girl then bounced in through the doorway.
Caleb’s eyes flickered, and at a glance, she saw the indifferent man following behind her.
“Mr. Mercer! Is Evelyn at your place? I’m coming to see Evelyn! How is she doing?” Zoey rushed over with an anxious expression and almost bumped into Caleb standing on the stairs, Felix grabbed her and pulled her down. Zoey pouted discontentedly and looked anxiously upstairs.
“Ms. Harper, Evelyn is lying upstairs. Please keep your voice down a bit.”
